- In the season finale of the Alameda neighborhood spotlight, Alameda Realtor Jake Coyne, takes you to the wonderful neighborhood of Fernside.
Fernside is one of Alamedas most prestige neighborhoods (as well as one of the most expensive). This residential neighborhood offers amazing architectural styles from tudors, Mediterranean revivals, craftsman, and more. The variety and options make this neighborhood brilliantly unique.
Fernside has storybook tree-lined streets (Gibbons Dr) that residents can walk a short distance under to find themselves in Alameda's downtown, Park Street. The neighborhood is home and closeby to the islands best middle schools.

My area, I was born here in 1939 and was raised at 1628 Broadway, Lincoln park was my park and I attended Edison, Lincoln and Alameda High.
I have lived in Alameda for many year. Yup you got it. Miss my days in high school here. Love the current new and old restaurants.
Those were great times! And, the Island development is on-going so there should be quite a few new businesses coming in the next couple of years. It'll be nice to see the change and more new restaurants.
I'm surprised video did not touch on the waterfront homes. To me they are Alameda's crown jewels. Only 3 locations in the entire SF Bay offer waterfront homes and Fernside district is one of them.
The diversity and well kept homes throughout the island are great that’s for sure.

I love Alameda! I thought about buying Fernside because it definitely increasing in value and desirability overnight! Unfortunately after losing over 53 homes in a row I ended up buying on Bay Farm! I wish I had the extra money, portfolio, and support but, I made the most use of what I had and I’m probably one of the youngest home owners on Bay Farm Island! Lol! However, I love Alameda! Thanks Bro! Keep up the good work!
Oh my 53 homes!! Good job sticking through it though, haha. I do love fernside as well but I'm also on Bay Farm born and raised and wouldn't trade that for the world. It's a great place to live! Congrats on the home purchase
Jake Coyne Bay Farm > Fernside, Before My Time Bay Farm Homes use to be 3 times the price of a Fernside Home, 30-40 years later it’s the other way around but, I still love Bay Farm and its way way way better than the Main Island! Peace, Serenity, Less Cars and Peeps!

the most expensive for sure, even when I was a kid in the 40's Fernside was the big buck area.
