Hi Don. This song and "Love, Me" are my 2 favorite Collin Raye songs. His voice just reaches your inner self and begs you to listen with all your heart. Thanks for the request and reaction!
Collin Raye is in my top 5 and I’ve seen him in concert twice. Once in Anchorage, Alaska in 1994 just as I was really getting into Country and again in 2019 in Arlington, Texas. I loved both concerts and what sucks is that we don’t have concert ticket stubs anymore as momentos. I still have my one from 1994 in my collection. I wish we still had those. Collin Raye’s music was the soundtrack of my 20s and his music is timeless. My favorites from this 90s Country crooner are Little Rock; That Was a River; If I Were You; Not That Different; Love Remains; In This Life; Man of My Word; Love, Me; Somebody Else’s Moon; Every Second; What the Heart Wants; I Volunteer; Heart Full of Rain; One Boy, One Girl; Angel of No Mercy; I Think About You; I Love Being Wrong; On the Verge; The Gift; Little Red Rodeo; That’s My Story; Someone You Used To Know; and She's With Me.
This is a fave of mine, another great song from the '90s. I think Collin may have been a little underrated, although (imho) this was a particularly strong period for country music. There's a really good video for this song too, pretty much a story vid that amplifies the lyrics. I was truly delighted to hear the song again, hadn't seen this performance (excellent), and I love the Country Roads Show. Thanks Shayla for the great request and thanks Don for another wonderful reaction!
Totally agree that he was underrated. The 90's early 2000's had some amazing country music and quite a few singers didn't get the attention they deserved.
I have a great Little Rock song for you! Lee Ann Womack's "A Little Past Little Rock". As a lyricist you'll be intrigued by the turns of phrases and also her voice!
Collin is great! I've actually seen him twice in concert. You should definitely check out some of his other work. Little Rock was about a recovering alcoholic, and back in the day actually prompted thousands to phone Al Anon, as they posted the number at the end of the music video.
Hi Don, always love these 'Country Roads' videos. Seeing all the legends in the audience is so cool! Since you done a few Nashville artist lately it maybe time for an Anti-Nashville song. May I suggest either Creed Fisher's " It Damn Sure Ain't Merle " or Jason Eady "A.M. Country Heaven ". Thanks Sharla for the request and Don for your reaction/rating. A Good Day to All!!!!---#UTRCM
The way I understand the song is his drinking must've gotten him in trouble to the point where she kicked him out and he moved to Little Rock to sober up with the hope of going home some day. The problem with that is "a daddy don't forget" so it's open to interpretation whether or not he was an abusive alcoholic.
In the video he was a recovering alcoholic who was a mean drunk and he decided to sober up after his son saw him arguing with his wife. Just like his dad did when he was younger
I absolutely love your channel my guy, and thanks for representing the Hogs. And btw i really hope the hogs get another shot at the Rutgers football team. I think theres a HIGHLY underrated country group you should check out. Perfect Stranger is low key one of the best groups of all time. The lead singers voice is amazing. Please check out their song The Hits. I think its simply brilliant how they put it together.... in Fact im going to listen to it now. #WPS!!!
@James McDaniel I just dded it to the list, but please be patient since the list is always pretty long. As for another shot at Rutgers, I and our entire fanbase would love that. Those of us who went down to Reynolds Stadium had one of the best experiences with other fans ever, and of course winning the game didn't hurt, either. ;-) If we played the Hogs this year you would wreck us. Your coach has you playing the best ball in a long time (same thing in basketball), and we are rebuilding our football team. Always good to connect with Hogs fans, and WPS!!
Hi Don, I've mentioned it before and I'll take this opportunity to pitch it again, but I think you'll really enjoy his song "She's With Me." If you ever decide to do it, please do the official video that has him and some of his family in it. Take care...
There's lots of Country singers there with him. ❤
I love the line "Jesus will forgive, but a Daddy won't forget".
Incredible vocalist-in the 90’s nobody was bigger! He made a conscious effort to sing songs that would only have a positive impact.!
Hi Don. This song and "Love, Me" are my 2 favorite Collin Raye songs. His voice just reaches your inner self and begs you to listen with all your heart. Thanks for the request and reaction!
i saw him years ago in concert. He was great. He was all over the stage with his great songs.
Love his voice. Colin puts it all out there every night he holds nothing back
Great reaction. This was one of Collin Raye's earlier hits.
Collin's brother was a guitar player in Miranda Lambert's band; sadly passed away not too long ago. RIP Scotty and condolences to Collin and family.

Woo pig!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Another one I haven’t heard in a while. Sometimes we put ourselves in bad situations and then we have to work at getting back on track.
You are so right and they're a lot easier to get into than they ate to get out of.----#UTRCM
@@mikebarnett9012 ain’t that the truth. Had to pull myself out of a hole or two. Thank the Lord I finally found sold rock.
I always called those holes life's lessons. Amazing that it takes more than 1 time to learn
My joke used to be that you dig those holes with a backhoe and fill them back in with a teaspoon.---#UTRCM

Colin was very big in the 90s. I would suggest his song, Love Me. It's a very touching song.
Lee Ann Womack, little past little rock.
Absolutely check out more Colin Raye. Little Red Rodeo by him is awesome.

Hello Don and everyone else I like this one
Oh..You should watch the official video. It tells a back story.
Collin is great! I've actually seen him twice in concert. You should definitely check out some of his other work. Little Rock was about a recovering alcoholic, and back in the day actually prompted thousands to phone Al Anon, as they posted the number at the end of the music video.
Colin Raye is from Arkansas. I don't know if that's why the song uses a city in Arkansas but always assumed that was the reason for it.
