Not sure what your install issue is. I usually do not select reboot after installing any Distribution, I close install screen. Then take a look at the menu and shutdown normal and remove USB install stick , and Start up from off condition , since I do not use DVD's any more. If you are using duel or multi boot that could also be an issue, or possible Virtual machine issue if installing on a virtual . There could also be something on your machine hardware wise causing issue, just keep in mind LMDE 6 is not like Xfce desktops which more forgiven on older computers as an example.Hopefully that was helpful .
