....Il vero canto...il vero talento....la vera arte...le vere emozioni...la vera Lirica...un duetto magnifico con il mio vero magnifico e gigantesco Franco Corelli !!!!❤❤❤Grazie caro LhoengrinO....Elsa Asta
I wouldn’t have associated Waechter with Rodrigo, but what a wonderful surprise! Corelli always brings passion and intensity to his roles,. Such magnificent voices! Thanks Lohengrin! Siegfried.
@@LohengrinO I think Waechter sang Don Giovanni in the pre-war Glyndebourne version with Fritz Busch. His voice was lighter then. I have the record somewhere in our loft.
@@Nagennif1011 That's right - I made a mistake. I have the old pre-war recording on a 33 but it's very scratched. John Brownlee was a great Giovanni - may be the best I ever heard. The last time I saw Don Giovanni I regret to say I heard Erwin Schrott who was awful - not in voice - but in characterization. He just walked around admiring himself. He lived up to his name.

Corelli sings wonderfully, on the contrary I cannot feel the same enthusiasm for Waechter whose italian pronunciation is questionable and sometimes hilarious (just one exemple, he says: "partir per la Sandra", instead of "per la Fiandra"... maybe besides Elisabetta Don Carlo was in love also with this Sandra😂😂😂)and IMHO the emission often sounds forced expecially in the upper register.
Don Carlos + such an exceptional cast = Gesamtkunstwerk. I'm not sure if any other piece by Verdi would fit that well into the equation :)
Corelli Forever. Fabulous Wächter.

WOW!!! What a phenomenal duo for this duet! Thanks so much for this superb upload.
Ci sono pezzi cantati da Corelli che si ascoltano in apnea.Questo è uno di quelli.Favoloso. Grazie a chi c'è li offre...
Unglaublich schön. Vielen Dank
Magnificent! That's what Opera supposed to sound like!

Completely agree that Wachtert is a revelation in this role, though his Don Giovanni for Guilini issimply the best. A fabulous performance. Thank you
Absolutamente épico.
Bravissimi.
Gracias Lohengrin O desde Santiago, Chile

Wow, it seems it was with Verrett (Eboli or Elisabetta??). Couldn't find more on my google search. Love Waechter. & Corelli of course.
Verrett was Eboli, and Gundula Janowitz was Elisabetta.
@@alleviation91 What a cast

What a stroke of luck brought these two together...
