Yes, with maximum limit of 5 years. But the sanction of leave is at discretion of leave sanctioning authority. Leave is not a matter of right.

Though I have one query. Can a government employee get half pay leave for some personal ground and get half the pay. If so then for how many days at a stretch and for what number of time in a year. Supposing 100 HPL is available in his leave account.

If I take EL for 5 days that is for the whole week and I have to join the following Monday but I don't join due to fever so I take 2 day's of medical leave from Monday to Tuesday.
My question is whether I'll have to submit commutted leave from Saturday to Tuesday or Monday to Tuesday (2 days) only??
