Why are they letting people who do not know what an abortion is testify before Congress about abortions?
They're generally activists on the issue at hand, brought in by the Republicans on the other side of the issue, which those on a committee can do. They're just supposed to run their mouths in the hope of producing useful soundbites and raising their profile. They're not expected to persuade anyone.

An ectopic pregnancy requires the removal of that embryo, an abortion.
I almost lost my life to my first ectopic pregnancy from a hemorrhage.
The second time I was sent home, even though I had a history of an ectopic pregnancy because they thought I was seeking pain meds.
Called my OBGYN, was admitted immediately and he had words with the ER Dr, and nurse who treated me like a drug addict.
I had surgery that same day.
Under these new laws in combination of ignorant Dr’s and nurses, I would be no more.
Stop this insanity, obsessing over how to control women and our bodies!!!

I would think very carefully, and be very well-informed with the FACTS, before attempting to challenge the wonderful and formidable Katie Porter.
The fact that you realize you need to be informed to be on the stage and talking to Rep Porter means that you'd actually have a decent and informative conversation with her.
The witnesses were NOT prepared for the cross-examination they got from these three brilliant congresswomen. Bravo ladies!

It cracks me up, how some people seem to think, they know more than Doctors and experts.
How can women do this? How? How can women be against women having control over themselves? I just don't understand.
You can’t reason with lunacy or willful ignorance/stupidity. So the issues that these staunchly maga right wing nut jobs keep picking at and pushing against will never make sense to people who understand and know the basic concept of human decency and respect for others because they don’t have those traits within themselves. Those people operate out of fear and complacency because it’s all they know. They’ll eventually find there is no place for their rhetoric or backwards ideology as time passes. There may be a lucky few who wake up to reality but judging from how far they operate outside of rational thought today, it doesn’t seem to predict any favorable outcome of that happening.
Because (a) they don’t identify with or even care to understand the needs of the majority of women; (b) it is politically expedient; (c) they are here to serve themselves - not the overwhelming majority in this country
Try reading up on evolutionary construction. Females "having control over themselves" is as much a perversion of nature as is homosexuality.
EVERY other species is (naturally) aware of that reality. The females get 'uncontrollable' periods and uncontrollably come on heat, feeling the ancient NEED to breed: THUS 'controlling' themselves via their PURPOSE for existing. On the social level all 'variations' are possible by decree, but usually depend upon the ability to enforce a particular view. Women who (for whatever reason) live according to the natural order are recognised by males as a possession to be treasured. And real women know their 'value' increases with the degree of their possession. (Assuming the male counterpart lives up to HIS 'value'.) eg. See above: A lion without territory has virtually no chance of fathering a litter with a willing lioness; but a lion who gets/holds territory is surrounded by willing lionesses. It's the basis upon which ALL living things operate. Even plants! The ONLY good thing about the advent of 'feminism' is that to some degree it's separated out the 'valueless' females from the 'real' women. Saves everyone a lot of time and effort.

It always strikes me as weird and revealing that they seem to want to make carveouts for abortions that we agree are necessary, but without calling them abortions. That's the way they get around the crazy stuff.
That should enable them to also be against forcing women to carry dead or fatally ill fetuses to term. But, they're not going to go that extra mile in court.
It's not "an abortion" if it hurts our arguments .

I had an ectopic pregnancy it cannot go passed 6 wks my tubes literally burst I hemoriged & couldn't breathe &went into emergency surgery where I almost died. No saving the baby at that fetus. My 2nd pregnancy went to 4 mo's & again miscarried. Came out in pieces horribly painful mentally & physically. Had endometriosis severely sickly for yrs. Finally ending in total hysterectomy. Traumatized me for life & I was 30.... imagine a young child going through this. Only a barbarian person would allow forceful pregnancies. Chances are nill for many women & especially a child if issues occur.🤬stop the madness.

I work with children and teens. Some are trans. I get ever so puzzled by adults deciding what children are allowed to think and feel.
