I can't possibly express how much I needed a video like this today. Per usual the b-roll looks stunning, I'm still incredibly jealous of your cinematography and incredible color grading! Thanks a whole lot for this upload Alvin!
Great to see this trip report on video! I’ve taken this itinerary LAX-NRT-SIN four times past couple years versus the direct flight, specifically for the same reason you did… for the extra meals, flight time and the ANA lounge in NRT 🤣. Relatively short layover as you noticed… but walking brisk… I can get to the open and spacious larger ANA lounge by gate 52 in less than 10 minutes from gate 35. It’s well worth the walk for the relaxed seat by the windows with hot ramen and curry rice with chicken karaage on top! A good half hour in lounge and still make it back before priority boarding.
Fantastic Video Alvin, i liked that it was a longer Video. Exactly what i needed to end this stressful and painful day. Keep up that amazing and beautiful work, lovely greetings from Zurich, Switzerland
Great video, Alvin! That was an amazing scope of food on a plane. Thanks for sharing the experience. Total props for taking an extra flight just to get the special Japanese meal. 😊 That is some serious dedication! I was surprised how much you were able to eat! I'm flying JFK-SIN in February, so your video got me really excited about the trip and food service. I am a little concerned about the bed and angled footrest though. I hope I can sleep well in that configuration.
Singapore Airlines, gracious gifting and Japanese catering meal on the Singapore segment. What's not to like? 40 minutes of 👍thumbs up entertainment. Thanks !!!
Fantastic comprehensive report. SQ have for years run with the angled footrest and the inflexible seat/bed option.....rather dated now, is it time for an update?. Otherwise, pretty much perfect flight and yes, I too would choose the longer route for max take off/landings/catering and time in the air, especially on a carrier like SQ.
Great video!! We will be doing this trip next year. Do you need to clear security when you deplane in Narita? If you do, how long did the whole process take? Thank you for your video!
Personally, I would have stayed in Tokyo for 1 or 2 nights and then continued on this flight to Singapore. This way my stomach won't feel like it is bursting (as still full from the Los Angeles to Tokyo segment) as I eat the Japanese meal on the Tokyo-Singapore segment.
I always ask for extra snacks especially their packets of nuts 👍🏻 I will be flying Business Class to Japan next April. Really looking forward to it. Maybe I should do a TH-cam using Wheelchair Assist 😊
If you need to phone SQ, call their Singapore number and select "Mandarin" as the language option so you don't get their Indian call center and get routed to their Singapore call center instead (staff will still speak English).
@@yvr2002rtw It was the call centre in Philippines that was horrid. We ended up paying hundreds of dollars due to them and spent hours on the phone. Maybe I'll try Mandarin next time!
@@onemoreweektogo Flew EWR TO SIN last year, have to say the catering outbound from states was quite disappointing as always. That 卤肉饭 doesn't look anywhere close to what you get in Vancouver🤣🤣
Other than the food and service the seating or sleeping position is rubbish and uncomfortable. Also the cost cutting with the amenities kit that even when you request one as you board , you don’t necessarily get one. Hopefully SQ have taken onboard ideas for some new seat designs for the future from the expo that was on in the middle east earlier this year.

Thank you so much for the kind words! 😊

Hahaha we think alike! Yeah I need to try to get to that other lounge next time. That would have been a much nicer lounge to go to!

I think it’s definitely time. Certainly felt a bit dated but everything else makes up for it!

I Like Business Class Product.Great Video And Info
Thank you!
Really great video!
The throne seats are some of the best in the market for business class, there's a reason why they made 8 Billion in profit alone last year.

Great video Alvin!! Love your content always. From a fellow YVRer here. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!
Next time use the Polaris Lounge at LAX T7 (any *J ticket gets you in)! Much better than the Star Alliance lounge at TBIT with sit down restaurant
Ohhh, I’ll try that out next time! thanks!

That’s exciting! Hope you enjoy it!!
they didnt serve you singapore satay the chicken with penut sauce?
SQ has great on-board service but I was appalled at how bad their phone customer service was. I'll stick to JAL/ANA for now but great review!
Oh no, hope I never have to call them 😅

I start dreaming about 20hrs in those four first class seats would be something else😂😂😂
Oh how I wish I got to try those haha

Just bad lighting
No amount of lighting can save that sht
Jesus CHRIST! Learn how to use cutlery. You don't use a fork to pick up everrything. Nor your hands.
I would use chopsticks for everything (including chips) if I had them 🤪
这玩意儿不是卤肉饭看见更像六味斋的酱肉饭对觉得卤肉太腻的我感觉更好吃一万倍虽然卤肉饭是经典但是在外国的飞机上看见老字号酱肉简直不要太奢侈
