In Los Angeles, we organize an elaborate Halloween event, and while searching for a new projector, I came across your company. Your work is truly impressive, and now I'm considering how I can seamlessly incorporate it into my yearly production. Keep up the great work!
Probably the best video on projectors ive seen. haha! After hours and hours and hours of digging for a video just like this. ha! Thanks for just showing how they work! Straight forward!
You can't believe how important this video is for me, I couldn't find any of this new Optoma GT2100HDR review, and was already planning to buy it anyway for the specs (4 of them for an installation). But now it's clear that it's not worth it at all, Epson is clearly a winner. Thank you a ton for your review and amazing comparison!!!
thank you for this comparison video, it really helped me . I had to decide between these two projectors for a panoramic installation of four projectors. Your video came in the right time for me!
Thanks for doing this comparison. I believe one big difference is the max width of an image. The Epson from what I see only goes roughly 10 feet wide. The Optoma goes roughly 35 feet wide. That's a big difference if you have a very wide home. Thanks again.
@@randykassebaum8815 all 3 of these projectors can cover the full length of an average sized house. If you are going based off the projectors spec sheets, this is a recommendation but they can go much bigger as shown in the video. Hope that helps!
You happy with the switch ? I don't feel like all the colors always pop s much as I like with my optoma. Sometimes they barely show up at all on my house depending on the shade of color.
I've been shopping around and debating between the Epson and Optima. Was already leaning towards Epson before your review and definitely going Epson. It's almost $1,000 price difference between the two.
Thank you! So each projector was aligned and warped separate from one another within the software so it wasn't really an HDMI splitter but rather just turning them all on at once through madmapper at the end. Is that what you were asking?
@@fxprojections9769 Thank you very much for your quick response. I was thinking if it would be possible to user two projectors perfectly aligned playing one same video to make brighter. It would be cheaper to get two 4000 lumen projector than one 8000 lumen projector, specially when projecting on non-white surface.
@@fxprojections9769 thanks for the prompt answer! I'm trying to figure out if I can make a video wall of about 65 x 32.5 feet in size using 6 or 9 Epsons L210SF's. You seem an expert in this domain which is fairly new to me... maybe you would have an opinion at hand for this.
Not sure if I missed it, but how old was the epsons bulb at time of making this video? Would be interesting to see another comparison after a few hundred hours of use on it. I do believe the 3LCD tech is known to show brighter colors as you demonstrated, but not sure how well that hold up with bulb age.
That comparison was awesome as I had been tossing up between the Optoma but leaning more towards the Epson 210sf. Could you please let me know how far away from the house the projectors were and were there any issues with focus over an extended projection distance? I think you said in another comment that each projector could cover the whole house by themselves. May I ask how wide you were projecting? Thanks in advance.
Happy this helped! My house is 53 feet wide and pretty sure these could cover much more. I would say lack of brightness would become an issue before focus issues
@@fxprojections9769 Awesome, thanks so much for that. It gives me a lot more confidence in the purchase and if worse comes to worse for brightness I can consider stacking another projector.
Any concerns about the Epson in cold weather? I'm located in Utah. Also, it seems that nearly all recommendations for projection mapping seem to lean towards the Optoma brand. After reviewing the specs, I thought the Epsons were clearly a good option. Any thought on that reasoning?? Thanks for your content and help.
Luckily living in Florida I don't have this issue lol but as long as when it kicks on at dusk and it's in it's 30s.. it should be ok. Once on it'll heat up enough (if in box/enclosure) and be ok if it drops more. But if it's below that, you might need to put a reptile heating pad in there. (I've heard many that do this). Optoma is more popular because up until recently Epson didn't have any Full HD short throw projectors at a reasonable price until this L210sf. The only ones they had weren't as high resolution or were pro projectors which are much more expensive.
@@seansalak9516 for the holiday seasons I usually export to a flash drive, plug that into a $50 media player and then plug it into the projector and will loop the shows all evening
Did you have focus problems with the Epson at that distance? In their calculator the spec says it can't go past a 49.93" throw distance, but you're way past that in this video.
No focus issues.. I'm not sure why projector central and other websites cut off the focus/projected size at a certain number but from my experience they can usually go wayyy past what it's listed at
That is a good projector but it isn't a short throw so chances are it would be in the street/across the road in order to cover the house. For every 1.32 feet back in the yard it goes from the house, the projections will be 1 foot wide on the house. Example, for a 50 foot long house, that would need to be placed back 66 feet to cover it.
