Jobby is scarily good at voicing characters who are traitorous cowardly schemers. From Star Scream, to Terrorsaur. Who knows who else he can voice that well.
I feel like they wanted Terrorsaur to be Beast Megatron's Starscream, ambitiously wanting to take command and overthrow Megatron. Unfortunately, that kind of characterization fell flat when you also had Tarantulas, whose schemes were more about self interest and much more secretive.
To be fair it was fun to see the contrast between the 2, tarantulas was cunning and a long term planner putting pieces into place for future use. Terrorsaur was very dumb and often didn't think through his attempts at usurping Megatron and as a result failed because of his lack of foresight.
@@zeratul____1228 well, you're not wrong tbh. But I suppose they sort of replaced that role with Rampage, who openly despised Megs and wanted him dead, and probably had the power to do so, but held back by megatron holding part of his spark.
It's definitely interesting. Starscream is definitely one of my top 5 favorite Transformers characters. He has an annoyingly screechy voice, and is a back stabbing little cunt. I find it endearing to his character. Terrorsaur, on the other hand, I ironically found annoying lmao. Always loved his design, and being a "dinosaur" nerd, I still picked up this figure lol.
Fun fact: Waspinator was originally going to be killed off along with scorponok . However, because of Waspinator's popularity, he was replaced with Terrorsaur. Animation budgeting played a big part in the need to kill someone off.
@@ThatRandomDude14 not sure I agree with Waspinator getting killed off. I suppose they could've made it lighthearted somehow and had it work. However, I will say that having him and Megatron be the only surviving Predacons from BW who then continued into beast machines is a bit odd. Supposed that's just how the toys just sold.
Say that again... Just without the "Now that's a very badass figure, sadly, terrorsaur was underrated and I think he deserved some attention other things" part

Terrorsaur truly is an underrated character. Characterized as the Starscream of the series, yet he’s killed off as early as the first episode of the second season.
Hi Jobby! Don't know if you'll see this but I just wanted to say thank you for all the hours of entertainment. You even reignited my passion for collecting when I thought I was done. I have a small collection right now but I hope to grow it more as time goes on. Thanks for being the best toy reviewer ever Jobby.
Even though Terrorsaur's appearance was short lived, I still enjoyed him as a character and wanted more of him. At least he gets some love in toy form which is nice to see.
What always blew my mind is that the character was incredibly underrepresented and yet received a transmetal figure release though the form was never intended
Adjust the mushroom pegs on the base of the wings to get the two wing halves pegged together better. On mine, neither side wanted to stay together, either, until I just swiveled the base a few friggin microns. Seriously, try it out, it should work just fine once you get it lined up to the nearest 5 molecules.
I first discovered your videos when I was staying at my grandparents house. My grandpa passed away 2 years ago, but the transformation music always reminds me of being at his house.
Just the way the figure stands is 100% Terrorsaur swagger, absolutely amazing fig. I want it. I don't have an MP-style Beast Wars collection but I want it.
I haven’t picked up a 3rd party transformer for a long time, but this would definitely help balance out the good vs bad scale on my MP Beast Wars shelf!
Yeah, this is a solid figure! I myself highly recommend picking one up. I don't understand why some other reviewers either trashed this figure or just didn't like it? Honestly, the only glaring issue is getting the Pterodactyl neck over the knees during transformation. The hinge needed to open wider, and sadly, I chipped some paint during my first attempt. Also, on my figure, my stomach doesn't tab in well. So when I rotate my copy's tight shoulder, it winds up taking his abs with him lmao.
I Iove how Jobby didn't even make an Eyedrop joke about the peepers. He immediately went for a more fucked up on instead lmao. Also agreed Terrorsaur is underrated, sure he might have not been one of the most memorable to most people but he definitely would have some good room for improvement.
One nice thing you missed, too, is all his accessories can tab into the underside of the stand so they have somewhere to go. Overall a great figure, with a genuinely pleasant transformation I would never have expected from it.
It's such a shame that they killed off Terrosaur at the beginning of Beast Wars' 2nd season. I don't know what the original plan was, but I do remember seeing a Transformers figure of a Transmetal Terrorsaur, as well as a Transmetal Rhinox. Maybe those two were supposed to get Transmetal forms, but due to budget reasons, they left Rhinox as he was, since they already had the 3D model, and killed off both Terrosaur and Scorponok in order to introduce Silverbolt and Quickstrike into the series.
He did have a transmetal but then again so did Rinox, Inferno, and Waspinator so likely they had no idea which was going to be a transmittal and made the toys just in case. In the show Terrosaur and Scorpinok both were being shifted into transmittal, but drowned in lava.
I think the original plan was for all characters to go transmetal but due to the budget of the show they either kept them the same or killed them off but the toys were still produced
@@DemitriVladMaximovInferno was only because his toy was a shelfwarmer and so they renamed his toy to Scavenger in order to evade this problem...which failed because Transmetal Inferno/Scavenger also became a shelfwarmer
@@DemitriVladMaximov I had no idea that they made and inferno transmetal and having looked it up I am beyond angry that we didn't get it, that thing looks wonderful
Man are these Beast Wars Masterpiece lines just the most beautiful things they have ever done. Can wait to see how they do Rhinox, Scorponok, Air Razor, Rattrap, Inferno, and Tarantulas.
My only fear is that the Tarantulas and Scorponok beast modes might end up like Blackarachnia which is all the robot mode parts just shoved to the bottom
They took a lot of notes from the MP Dinobot for this guy's engineering, quite great since Dinobot is one of the most impressive figures of the MP line.
Man that show accuracy is phenomenal and he even has all his weapons. If only all of your average run of the mill Transformer toys were such quality, I mean the whole point of the show was to sell toys but then they didn't end up being show accurate. But then it would be far more expensive and far easier for small children to break.
Well, Beast wars is different. The toys where designed first, (as with most transformers shows) and the CGI models were designed to be identical to the figures. But, the shoemakers realized that the characters looked really dumb in movement, and no one would take the show seriously. So they completely redesigned the show models to look better, completely wasting their budget, which is why the backgrounds for the first season were just barren wastelands. Long story short, toys are designed first, show models completely disregard them and do whatever the fuck they want.
Metagate managing to hide the wings of Terrorsaur so coherently gives me hope that Unique Toys or Metagate can one day give us a Nitro Zeus as clean as this.
Something oddly satisfying about a simple review of an underrated character with enough effort, good design, and no flashy or excessive gimmicks and accessories.
