A friend and I got him to build 2 identical boats after we priced material, a shop to press brake the parts, and welding it ourselves it only cost us approx $250 ea more for him to build them and they were perfect plus he added extras we did not plan to do. He is a real and great person that you do not find often.
Must be wonderful to have such an amazing craftsman like Mike.

watching this i learn and respect these guys, people tend to stereotype thinking
they are slow. i am from Brooklyn NY where theres a store on every corner,
these people are proud of what they know and do, they live off the land and survive,
i wish i knew half what they know,,
what most people seem to forget is it was a custom made boat to the customers specs, not only that he use a much heavier aluminum than you would get at the local boat shop.. Most commercially made boats are just like cars they are built with a budget in mind for the average person/general public, so to get a high quality custom made boat you must pony up a little extra money, you want quality you gotta pay. REMEMBER you get what you pay for.
I work with guys who know him real well they say he's a hell of a boat builder and could be a millionaire but he builds boats to pay his bills I hear he's not real motivated to make a million just lives a happy life style and thats it.

I always liked Mr. Kliebert on the show...even T-Mike. I wondered why we didn't see more of them. When I watched the episode he did this on, I was an instant fan.

My uncle built them for years. It is a pretty awesome skill to have. Hell, just welding aluminum is a chore in itself. I suppose these people that claim the price is too high, have obviously never shopped for a all weld boat. Nor have they spent much time in the Louisiana water ways. There will be times your boat will encouter a log or stump. It is unavoidable, and when they do, you will be better off with an all welded one than a cheap riveted hull jon boat, trust me.
For an all welded aluminum boat, $4000 is not bad. You can't compare them to the cheaper riveted hulls.
Nowadays the aluminum alone costs more than $4000!

I know mike very well he builds custom made boats in his own shop on his own property is live in Missouri and do a lot of fishing he'll be building my next boat by the way he also does alligator hunts I've been gator hunting with him had a great time mike and his wonderful wife miss melody are some of the most honest and friendly people I've ever met they make you feel right at home and the food is better than anywhere mike is a great cook and don't minder showing you how to do it thanks Mike and melody I'll see you soon Brett Ferguson

Make sure you know what you are doing. I've been told that welding aluminum is not that easy. We got our aluminum boats built by a guy near Fulton, Illinois. Practically indestructible.

Okay, he built a 15' all welded aluminum boat with live wells. Find me one of those for $700. You would be better off hunting for a unicorn.

I'd like someone to build me a 1/3rd scale LCM-8, about 25 long by about as wide as can be hauled without special permits. Heavy gauge aluminum, doesn't have to look fancy. Contact me, I'm serious about this project
