Reviews:
"I am a hard marker when it comes to military-related films. As a combat veteran myself, I can vouch for this one. Those who find it "unconvincing" are just naive to the reality of coming "home" after desperately hoping & fighting to get back, only to find no home left. To find that the sacrifice did not lead to more prosperous opportunities, that people don't understand you, and that even though it feels like everything has been taken from you, somehow you still miss the experience that made you feel so alive and on the edge. You miss your brothers. It's an incredibly difficult thing to transition back into society after surviving with a group of people holding so close to the heart this notion of your home, wherever that is, and making it back to realize it doesn't exist anymore. You aren't the same and you never will be. It's like a whole new, more f'ed up phase of mental hardships that blindsided you. And I could write a book.
There's the reality of this emotion and then there's the attempt to express it. So I want to give this movie real props for getting it close enough to keep my attention. In fact, I totally fell into it and related to many scenes. I reflected about myself and how I am towards others at times. I reflected about how much I've gone on these respites alone in nature, just walking and wanting to be alone. So I don't think I spoiled anything in this review that isn't suggested in a preview. I just needed to write a review for the first time ever because I feel like this film deserves credit. And Bryan Kaplan did a fantastic job. That is all."

Fantastic movie. I am a combat vet with multiple tours of Iraq and Afghanistan. Although post deployment and separation transition care and support is certainly better today than it has ever been it still remains "on rails" and lets down the most vulnerable soldiers dealing with internal demons. I have attended too many funerals for soldiers that I served with that could see no other way forward and did not feel as though they had someone they could trust to turn to. I haven't got the solutions, however, I do know they need a higher standard of care.
THANK YOU FOR SERVING😢
Thank You for helping to create Greater Israel !
Thank you for your service. God bless
I also served and done my tours in the Middle East 😢 brother after surviving massive I.E.D 🔥whilst protecting a high level 🇺🇸 General, my life is in turmoil 😢not only with my injuries but my PTSD 🙏I know I blessed to be here Alive and give All the glory to our Lord 🙏🏴💙🇺🇸✌️GTC
There is always a way forward, impossible as it may seem. Once you dig that you've got a fighting chance.
Wanting to work but can't find employment.Leaving Montana to go back to Oregon this movie gives me the chills.I've lived in those mountains just to survive.Waiting 5 years and counting for the v.a. to do their job! kick me in the head when I'm down. I don't carry anymore because its too easy to check out
With 22 veterans committing suicide everyday I think that was a very wise choice
There is a real life, authentic feel to this movie. Very well done. I can see why it won an award. Bravo to everyone involved in it's production.
Traumatic account of PTSD coupled badly with delay in disability allowance.
Powerful movie..thanks for the upload 🙏
Excellent movie... absolutely shocking treatment these vets get... why wasn't he getting paid his disability... disgrace that they are put through this...
❤️
Many times more usual than not it can take years to gather evidence the VA will approve to get a disability benefit
Bryan Kaplan is an incredible actor. Although I've never served, I had a knot in my stomach throughout this movie. Thank you all for your service.
Excellent movie! Finally, something real and how life is! I'm praying for everyone who suffers from PTSD; it's difficult with not a lot of options. I know this firsthand. I hope more movies like this are made; people need to know and see the truth!!
Excellent movie. Wars are not only fought with guns. Battles arising out of the wealth gap have plagued mankind for centuries.

Wealth is mobile.
@@jeanettecameron7530 So are ethics, values and morals. They go with one where one is. Sadly these are sacrificed on the Alter of wealth.
@@reinemarais4392 Not exclusively. Depends on one's commitment to their moral compass.
My father was on the beach in Normandie at “D” day as a foot soldier. He was in the early twenties. He told me some stories about the nightmare of the war. But After the war he came back to Canada and he got married and raised seven children and started a business in construction. My point is that you can do anything when you set your mind to it. I did enjoy the movie and it made me think a lot.
People are different, some can take much more than others .
Their is no war that doesn’t have casualties. Those who survived to go back to their country are still casualties. There are countless factors that roar in the minds of PTSD, and physical trauma. None are adequately addressed by
“the system”.
1 out of 3 don’t make it back to manageable health. Maybe less.
Personally, I think your father's situation was absolutely one-in-a-million, and I'm glad that his story had a wonderful ending ... but the truth is that more than just some come back intending to have a life like that ahead of them, but it does not just depend on "you can do anything when you set your mind to it"!! Their emotional, psychological and physical scars are just way too much for that "Hollywood ending" to their story -- their country falls way too short in providing the total support (in so many ways) that they require upon their return.
You are lucky that your father is emotionally strong. Not everyone is emotionally that strong. They come back emotionally shattered.
As a uk veteran this touched my soul bro there are veterans on uk streets n prison cells scrapping for less help than ILLIGAL Islamist veteran boat People in hotels
It's such a realistic movie based on the harsh reality that some unfortunate people have to deal with. Billions of people like Justin are trying everything just to stay normal and just get through all of it. This movie truly deserves much more appreciation.
So much deep feelings , Yes so good all actors..match the word of Fray 👍..very excellent can brust your mood swing , good scribt , when the old boss found him and give money that he owe him , that so good action with the words cruched my heart tear out, and its many plot the watcher can not doubt what is going on next and next...that why this film of true life showing deeply in emotional as a mirrow of Fray in human being I like so much from Justin honesty to everyone..Thank you for shared 👍🙏🕶❤⚘
yeah great movie, I wish there were more of that kind of movies, thanks and goodbye everybody!!!
Well that was difficult to watch ! They just don’t do enough for the soldiers who are struggling . More has to be done . We must pray for all the soldiers who have gone to war and need support ! ❤🙏✝👍
It's always been like this. You fight for your country and get nothing, plus get treated like a you are contagious afterwards. 😢😢😢
They needed to be taking care of soooooooo much better when they came home to this Country !! They fought for us & kept us SAFE & this is how they where treated !!! What a DISGRACE !!!
No, they didnt fight to keep you safe. There has never been a foreign army ready to attack the US. They fought to enrich US Big Businesses.
The last thing they did was keep you safe.
The mental and physical torture they went through 😢
I understand, my son when he came back from Iraq ,never be the same.
Hello I am an AF Vet 23 years. I believe we that our way of life in the military is different and the way we make the transition to the civilian life is harder on some than others. My son for example he is still having a hard time even going through a therapists and the pills is unbelievable as for me I made the transition fine my problem is not psychological it is physical. I only which they had spiritual counselors. One off my sister in laws went to one and it helped her out immensely her son was assassinated in front of her in Mexico some Narcos they told her to lay down in front if him he was sitting in a sofa and they were was four of them with AK 47. But that is life
EXAGERADO !!!!!!!! 😊😊😊
Nice movie worth the watch. I watched this years ago and watching again. Thanks for the upload.
❤️
I hurt for him. I hurt for the girl who tried to love him. No winners.
What a World... thank you for uploading, it's a quit one...

I gave YOU a thumbs just your review alone!
When i saw it was flimed in Portlad Oregon area i had to watch this is home my husband was a Vietnam vet
I m also born/raised PDX and husband was Nam vet.
Feel the pain 😢
and the Regular People who still pretend that this is OKAY are just as responsible. THIS IS NOT OKAY. NONE OF THIS IS OKAY:(
Most of the regular people who liked this movie, liked it bc it is an honest statement about that which is NOT ok. Everyone is different.
Incredibly 😢
Great movie. Thanks to BigTime for sharing ❤
Hard to watch, but i had to. Way harder to live this. I do hope trump makes vets top priority.
Oh, for sure he will if there is enough money in it for him personally.
Both of them wars have been completely senseless on top of this .
Yup, true feeling. Not hard to understand. Why life gets like that who knows, it’s not always what you make it.
Good movie! I can relate.
The film addresses a very sad topic that affects American society, but certainly the harm that American imperialism causes around the world is unfortunately infinitely greater and tragic. Good film, despite the heavy theme.
Great film, great story, well acted.
Heartbreaking and Infuriating.
We are funding everyone but our own sons - our soldiers.
I feel like factions in the government don't want them to make it - these soldiers have too many skills - they have been trained for battle.
Same here. Did my duty and returned to nothing but talk.
So tragic to see the trail of broken young men; rejected cannon fodder, as a result of America's never ending wars that not only wrecked them personally but has wreaked an equally broken economy that can't support them when they return. This is only one story of dystopian of America.
I did not care for the end !!!!
Nor I.
@@pmasmuth neither did Justin
Excellent. Movie
He’s looking a chubby to be in the homeless, walking a dozen miles every day situation…plus, as a marine he’d never refer to himself as a ‘soldier’. That’s army specific. A marine is a marine.
Why are classrooms always depicted as soulless, deadly drags? You might say, we,, in this film…but how often do you see vibrant, studenrs?
I know this works. And I’m commenting not only on this film but on so many others!
I don't think this was a depiction of any classroom but rather from the disconnected view of the vet.
Ptsd😢
The government should give them a job and PAY w housing ASAP. We are so evil. It took an entertainment host to get decent compensation for burn pits
Whoosh I cringed when she said "Well it's kinda a battlefield here in the summer" Oh lady not cool. Just say thank you. Whoosh
It was President Biden that signed the burn pit exposure health bill into law in August 2022.
I thought he was a bit self-centered. There was help but he didn't want it .
Need part 2
Did you kill innocent people out there, Jason?
Is this not getting what's coming to you once your out true?
Looks a great movie but I can't watch it due to too much background noise.
reality
Im shocked
What happened to the ending! I hate watching a movie and then there is no ending.
Im a vet in uk no one gives a shit the govermts, civilians treat you like shit when you leave and health services are totaly clueless
All our government s have a lot to answer for😥😠
So this Vet didn't qualify for disability ?
My brother is so much like this. It's been so hard on our family. My brother Mark is a vet & educated. But he is so unstable. It's been 9 yrs and he has been denied 5 times as disabled. My husband don't want him around our children they are afraid of him. He up and walked away from his wife and son. Honestly it's for the best for his wife and son. It's a constant stress on our family and my parents. There is absolutely nothing we can do. We tried.
He was on the waiting list for a year and still waiting!
i mean what does it take ???
@@elizabethcurcio9044it depends on the budget.
@elizabethcurcio9044 it depends on the paperwork and what has to be filed, researched, verified, sign off by chain of command. Anything missing? Previous documentation needed, signatures, VERY INEFFICIENT. Oh, don't forget budget cycles and allocations.
For reality watch Shawn Ryan Show. This is only a fantasy.

what was the ending....???
Taxi driver
sad
Ptsd mate.
This is award winning. This guy acts like a baby
It seemed like he didn't do his research to play the part. And it could have been the director.
Clearly above your pay level that was the whole point the man who went to war returned physically unfit and mentally traumatised his acting was excellent
Same old worn out trope.
More like award…whining
EXAGERADO !!!!!!! 😊😊😊
PTSD
Dumbest movie in history!
EXPLAIN WHY!
Already into movie 23 mins and NOTHING interesting. I'm out of here !!!
Vert very dull movie. Sandwich with no meat.
Excellent movie must watch
First and Last hour, Fast forward.
It is a good movie; life is about attitude how do you see things. Do you see things in a positive way or you see everywhere negatives.
