You also have Andrew Jackson (Representative, Senator, State Supreme Court Justice, General, Farmer, Governor of Florida [at one point], and the 7th President) who is an interesting person to say the least (some of what he did was good, quite a bit of what he did was bad in retrospect). Then there is Ulysses S. Grant, a US President and Civil War General (the one who went from a small time general to the leader of the entire Union Army and forced Lee to surrender). @@eatonknass247 exactly, being wealthy makes it so that Cassius and his cousin can afford to become lawyers via the best schools and being in the wealthy elite makes it easier for them to know someone who can connect them with the best mentors. Just cuz you're smart doesnt mean you can get into prestigious schools, just cuz you graduate from the best school doesnt guarantee you becoming the best lawyer especially if you dont have a good mentor and just because know where the best lawyer mentors are doesnt mean that they would take you under their wing. Thus, while his cousin could have become the best lawyer if he had come from a more humble background, the money definitely made easier.
@@4myzelf made it easier, yes. but Cassius's own attitude and vocal narrations dismissed any of that he would have had in the South. so while he went to the best school and was technically a lawyer, he probably never had much chance to use that education. I honestly don't think Britain would have joined or supported the Confederates in the Civil War. It didn't need the threat of Russian attack to stay our hand. Some might have wanted to, in order to get back at the country for the whole Independence thing, but really by that point we as a country had already moved on from that (we'd had the Napoleonic Wars between then and the Civil War). Also by this point in time not only had my country already itself outlawed slavery, the whole anti-slavery movement had become a thing of national pride for British people (we even sent our own ships out to forcibly stop slave trade ships) and there was absolutely no way in hell we were going to support a bunch of Americans who still supported and were actively fighting to defend slavery. If Britain was going to join the American Civil War I wholeheartedly believe it would have been on the side of the Union.

( If you haven't seen the video of this same TH-camrs video "America Obliterates Half Of Iran's Navy In 8 Hours! - Operation Praying Mantis" talking about Americas Proportional response. Lastly I HIGHLY believe this man was the sole reason Dueling became illegal in 1865.
not that hard to imagine men having honor back then tbh? And yes, at the end, clay has a cannon, you can still legally own a canon without permit in the US as long as you are a legal adult and an american citizen, only real diffucult part of the process to firing one here.... you gotta find one first, they are rare unless you can make one yourself
well...that would be because dueling was made illegal. If I remember due to the Alexander Hamilton incident. (could be wrong, but pretty sure it was a major political figure who lost the duel and died that made a law change expedient)

Hope to see you react to more of his content as he actively supports reactions to his videos. He's even sent some of his merch to reactors before. So keep an eye on your comments as he might drop one if he sees these videos!
16:50 Ah, premature emancipation. Happens to the best of us.
Truth is stranger than fiction.
I know this video is freaking old by this time, but The Fat Electrician is my favorite YT channel now. The dude just calls it as most of us see it.
Yes, Cassius Clay is the source if the home defense cannon meme
It's very important to know that all of this is true. He was an absolute bad ass and a man with determination.
Excelion needs to chill with the hate and constant bs claims when they have no basis or proof that any of it is bs, Fat Electrician does days of research and checks everything, so ya viewer needs to chill a bit, love your reaction though
He was the main character
Fiction has to make sense, because reality never does.
Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction
I would like to see a duel between Cassius Clay and Andrew Jackson.
19:19
Just as the Founding Fathers intended
If you are interested in Cassius Clay, he has a self written Biography you can easily find online to read as a public work. Fat Electrician is cutting down a lot of the years and giving you the highlights, but all of it is true.
It's metal AF The Fat Electrician named his child after Cassius Clay.
POW= prisoner of war...
The USA was founded by Main Characters and has produced a RIDICULOUS amount of Main Characters over its relatively short history.
10:19 [Duke Nukem] welcome to America baby!
Truth is often stranger then fiction
In a way, kinda like Wyatt Earp. Lived through some of the most violent times and died without ever receiving a bullet
Damn, that Excelion person must be from America, one of the “Proud Old Southern” families who act like being descended from slave-owning traitors is a mark of honor, rather than shameful.
P o w stands for prison of war
3:40 It's not murder if it's consensual. Lol jk
To be fair, being a part of one of the richest families helps with getting the best lawyers
Too bad you missed the part where the best lawyer was his cousin. In the south, you just hit him up and he does you a solid cuz family.
Which is why he called his cousin in, who'd never lost in 40+ years.
his personal views creates a negative to the positive his money would have enabled. basically a wash and everything is neutral in that regard.
Keep up the great videos. Can't wait to see more.
I recommend QXIR, he tells great stories, though maybe avoid the “Last Moments” stuff. They’re what they sound like.
You should watch Virginia hall best spy in ww2 from fat electrician.
You should check out fatty electricians, bat boom
And the christmas one
"oh my god, *good gracious!* ". Never knew that a fellow millennial would say old time words like that again. 1st vtuber who said that was Akuma Nihmune saying "goodness gracious" when pulling for arknights
It's high time that current to next gen people talk like that
me: what do you mean old
also me: oh.. it's 2024 😅😅
thing is, this wasn't in the area of the "Wild West" all this goes down on the eastern coast of the USA, the "Modern/ Cultured" side of the country. I seriously believe the US Military learned "Proportional retribution" from Cassius Clay.
All the stories that the fat electrician tell are true.Nick is a historian to be
not that hard to imagine men having honor back then tbh?
And yes, at the end, clay has a cannon, you can still legally own a canon without permit in the US as long as you are a legal adult and an american citizen, only real diffucult part of the process to firing one here.... you gotta find one first, they are rare unless you can make one yourself
THE LORD SAID SO THE GOV SAID SO I SAY SO
Once upon a time, war was a gentlemens sport.
yea this guy is a badass but If I duel and kill a single person Im a horrible criminal this time period is the worst.
well...that would be because dueling was made illegal. If I remember due to the Alexander Hamilton incident. (could be wrong, but pretty sure it was a major political figure who lost the duel and died that made a law change expedient)
@@nadjasunflower1387it’s not illegal in Texas if both parties consent
@@fantomphlame5565 just another reason why Texas is awesome. 😁 wish I lived there. lol
If you're into history videos, another current one that I find entertaining is BlueJay. His most recent is "How to Win The Cold War".
Her acatars eyes are distractingly far apart
How much of the video do you miss by talking over it the whole time?
You make it sound like I'm talking about the weather while the video is in the background. If you dislike my insight and comments on it, you're welcome to click the description of the video and then the original link. 🧡
Duels were never legal in US law. Cassius teetered on being a serial killer.
Never legal but also never really enforced. I might be misremembering but I think a President got into a duel with somebody once.
It would be super cool if you would at least pause the video real quick before talking, instead of talking over him and leaving us to speculate on wether or not you missed what he was saying while you were talking. 😬
"Creators need to learn"....ok, here's a tip sweetie.....when you talk over what he's saying without pausing...you're missing everything he's saying...so are the people watching you, because they can't hear both of you. You are missing the story, and the point. I can't watch the rest of this......
Realize u from a different generation, but just wanted to let u know iu are missing out on 35-40% of all viewers. Many of us Gen xers and earlier stopped watching cartoons/ anime at 13years old. I am a HUGE Star wars fan and refuse to watch the cartoons. In my mind until it happens in live action its not cannon. As for reaction videos, its kinda hard to see your "Reaction" when we dont even get to see YOU.Please dont take this as an insult its just how many of us feel. Love Fat Electrician Reactions, but not Cartoon ones. Hope u do well
I don't think it has anything to do with a generation, but rather, personal preference. To each their own as they say. I get that my style isn't for everyone.I love anime and if that means missing out on views, that's alright with me because I'm doing what makes me happy.
Have a great week and weekend!
Gotta find this without this annoying whatever this is
Lame, this is a pre-recorded show. Cool, just what TH-cam needed.
Pod Awful is watching you.
Most people think that the founding fathers were just a bunch of old guys, but they just lived to be old guys. Some of they're craziest shit happened in their 20s and 30s. Young people founded this country.
He didn't get spared in a war. He was a prisoner and was later released when the prisoners were released at the end.
Wild west? This wasn't even the west.
19:35 it’s actually easier to purchase a cannon in the United States than a handgun
"this is how fiction is written" One step from realizing life has main characters and you aren't one of them (im not either)
11:35 when you realize this isn't even the american frontier, this is "civilized" america.
16:45 its like 50% because of cassius clay, european great powers need very little reason to threaten eachother, especially if it inconveniences the other power.
On the conclusion, if you want what happens when one of those radical violent people actually does get the spotlight, look no further than stalin, he was effectively the cassius clay of russian communism, doing gang stuff to get money while in exile and all sorts of messed up stuff for what they believed to be "a good cause"
