A Velocity XL-RG will fly far faster than a Cirrus SR22T, Lancair IV, or Mooney. One with a Continental TSIO550-C will cruise at 225ktas, 75% power, and 250ktas at 85% power. At 12k feet, faster still at 18k and higher. Over the numbers speed is about the same as a Cirrus SR22T. Gross weight about 300 lbs lighter.
I understand this plane doesn't have flaps, so you use throttle to control your descent. Does it make sense you can come in at a proper glide slope coming in high, pitching down for airspeed? Some of the air fields I fly, you can't make the approach you show in the video...power lines, buildings, towers are in the way.
The plane is too clean to come in steeper. Just because you pull throttle doesn't mean you go slower. Yes, there are ways to come in a little steeper, but he didn't need to at this airport.
Nothing better than a Long EZ, COZY 4, Or Velocity XL!🛩️🙋🏼♂️🇺🇸🦃🍽️ Ty 🏆
Been flying a 172 for the last 2 years and that thing looks like it is MOVING when it touches down by comparison...
It is. We touch do final approach were 172s cruise. lol

What Lancair do you fly? We (partner) have a Lancair 360 and we are building a Velocity XL. Thanks
Super ES. Check out my other content.

Can you fly a standard 3deg glide slope in one of these?
What about the engine noise? Is it the same as a 172?
not as much as the engine is pretty far behind and the exhaust does not pass by you.
I say this video is a fake, look at the trees at 2:26, they look like blocky photogrammetry from MSFS 2020 ;)
that's pretty funny!
haha... you've never been higher than the weed you smoke..
