The battery needs to be charged for 10 hours before the phone is switched on for the very first time. If not the phone will assume that the battery is at full power. This means that when you charge it, it will only charge to the power level that the battery was at when you first turned it on. So if the battery only had 50% charge when first switched on, you will only ever have 50% charge (because the phone thinks its full). Thats why the battery seems poor Not sure why this happens but was told this by a senior member of nokias tech team. I charged both batteries for 10 hours when i first got my 8800 (which was fustrating cause i just wanted to switch it on and have a play)and my battery life is really good. I would say im a medium user and get a good 3 days between charges. If you have a 8800 and havent done this (and your battery life is poor) there is nothing you can do except buying a new one!
Awesome channel! I collect old phones and enjoyed it. Yesterday I purchased 8800d and it had a problem with the camera not working and the ear speaker not working. I managed to fix the earpiece by cleaning the hands-free port ( it was so dirty the phone was thinking there was a hands-free inserted) However the camera X
@@Retrophonesstuff i am asking because usualy when you clean directly a screen with izopropilic alchool , it can leave marks like ‘’burn-in’’ because of the alchool
I'm buying a nokia x6 from a seller in a few weeks. What do you think about the model please write your heart out in the reply or give a long reply about the model as I want how good it is from an expert. If possible I will make a video about the phone in my Phone Scavenger channel
Yah make the video a bit long but not too much. Actually my father had one when I was little but I was too small to have any memories of this phone. I guess it was the first phone to have a glass touchscreen.

salut! detin un nokia 8800. Nu ii mai apare pe ecran bara de meniu, prin urmare nu pot intra in meniu. ai idee ce poate fi? Multumesc!
Try telling me that these phones back then were not technically more challenging to open and replace parts compared to iPhones of today
Some are like the N93, some are easy but compared to the latest iPhones, they accept any replacement parts, even non original.
Am lucrat aşa mult, doar ca să primesc un subiect greu, pe care am luat 3.50.
De asta m-am chinuit?
Imi pare rau :(
Cool phone! by the way, my uncle have this phone same you.
