  • Driving in Barbados - From The Pine To Fort George Heights.
This video gives a good idea of the variety of homes and living conditions in Barbados. It shows an aspect of Barbados that most tourists don't experience.

I've been driving in the US since the 90s and been visiting Bim since the 90s, but have never driven in Bim. I'm such an impatient driver and those small roads leave no room for error 😮

Some of the roads are close and make us into very skilled drivers! 😊

As a young boy from the Pine, we used to get together on weekends and ride our bicycles all thru "the fort" (Fort George) as we'd call it. Sometimes we'd go up by the reservoir starting from Pinehill Diary side or behind SJPI & pick donks along the way as they were many donks trees from Pinehill Diary right up till you get to the reservoir. (Fun fact) The actual site of Water Authority building next to Pinehill Diary was once a pond where we'd also go & catch small fantailed fish on Sundays. This was all between 98'-2003', lots of development has since taken place all over Fort George and surrounding areas.

This is a beautiful video. My heart is blessed to see the area I lived in when I was born in the 1950's

Gated communities while many Barbadians live in rented accommodation.
