    My theory: the Wembanyama thing is intentional. They’re forcing him to play to his weaknesses and shoot volume 3s and contested 3s. It’s about development and it’s about tanking. It forces Wemby to develop the KD shooting and face up skills. As an added bonus, the team (which wasn’t in contention this year anyway) learns how to play without Wemby saving them while getting a worse record and better draft pick. Over the offseason Wemby gains even more weight and strength and people forget about him a little. Now you have a monster.

    I think the olympics deeply affected the NBA, the tendency for a lot of players is to make more 3p and in the olympics that was really the name of the game, USA almost lost to some sharp shooters from almost all good teams and in the end was Curry who saved everything with an insame 3p performance in the finals. So having said that... there is a guy who is adopting this style of play the best and that is Antman he is been crazy from 3p and I speculate to get even better since this kind of changes takes time.

    The last couple of games is evidence enough that San Antonio letting Wemby develop his outside shot during the rebuilding phase is best for both him and the team in the long run.
    If he can capably space the floor, it'll give him more space to develop his skills down low. Besides it's not like he doesn't score inside and from midrange at all. He exhibited a ton of really sophisticated inside scoring moves just recently against the Kings for example.
    Why grind him down physically by having him fruitlessly battle much stronger bigs in the low-block all night? He doesn't have the body mass of an orthodox big - and likely never will - so expecting him to play like one would only serve to cap his massive offensive potential.
    Even on the defensive end you rarely see him operating in the low post. He often straddles the elbow and the perimeter, collapsing on the paint when opponents drive then using his length to recover to the perimeter on kickouts.
    Becoming a reliable 3PT shooter - which his excellent mechanics and 90+ FT% suggest is absolutely possible - combined with his playmaking and best-in-the-league defensive prowess is what will truly elevate Wembanyama to the MVP-calibre player draft scouts knew he could be from 16-years-old.

      @@olaminabryan8026the thing is he’s only 20 and people are wanting him to develop his offense overnight like it’s a quick switch, it’s something that’s going to take time & Spurs are fine with that because they know he’s the future of the franchise

    • @olaminabryan8026
      @olaminabryan8026 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @Limbo85Inside Yes your right but what's concerning isn't that he hasn't gotten better or stayed the same to last year but he's visibly regressed. And badly too. He hasn't added any post moves his already iffy shot is looking worse and instead of using his massive 7 foot frame to go into the paint he insists on shooting 7 threes a game. That's concerning. He's shooting more and making less on what was already questionable efficiency which is now worse. He just had a game where he took 15 shots. 9 of those were threes. He's too tall too big to be only taking threes its never gonna work

    • @allenjhle
      @allenjhle หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@olaminabryan8026 if you looked more into it, he's purposely shooting 7 threes a game because the coaches want to try and develop that part of his game while he's still young and they're still bad, that way he'll be more of a complete player in the future, obviously he'll be worse for now, but for the sake of development, it'll make him a better player in the future, i do agree he could be working on other things, but then again, at his size those other things will come much easier.

      So you don't like the way he's being developed? News Flash: This is a three point league now. Might as well change the game to Threeball. So of course they are letting Wemby develop that shot.
      His defense makes up for any deficiencies you may see in his offense right now while that gets worked out. Also give him a summer where he doesn't have to play on Team France and we're in business with some post moves.

    the knicks its gotta be bridges. Brunson taking a paycut and being named team captain does put higher expectations on him but its really unfair. We got spoiled with how good brunson was last year. Hes still figuring things out but hes had some good games. Hes connected with Kat especially during the pistons game. Bridges has been more disappointing imo. We gave up mad picks for whats supposed to be an elite 3 n D guy. Well the defense has been subpar and even tho he fixed his shot, hes not as big a threat as he should be. His post middy is nice but how valuable is that to the team really? Especially with donte gone we need a VOLUME catch n shoot guy that fires without hesitation. Right now our best volume shooter is Kat, and while thats great we a have a center that can do that, that really should be bridges's role.

    As a rockets Fan I kinda disagree with the Cam Pick, yes the efficiency and tunnel vision are still terrible but we all kinda Knew Cam was gonna receive the fewest minutes out of the core 7 so there wasnt that high of an expectation on him to begin with, specially with reed coming in who offered more skill wise compared to cam who was just a spark plug off the bench last year, i feel like Jabari has been the most Disappointing one so far, His 3 ball isnt falling hasnt been that good on defense and rebounding the ball, the year 3 leap hasnt really been there so far, i'm hoping he can turn it around just like jalen last year because there needs to be a serious discussion if jabari should be benched in favor of Tari Eason who's been out playing him thus far
