And ya, it's SAND generally that you take air out of your tires, and/or if you have Summer Tires on, but they clearly already have off-roading/snow tires on, so deflating won't help, likely will make it worse.
Dude, that is SWEET! Thanks for posting! On May 30th 2020, Self-isolating around Bend OR, a hail storm with 3 inch balls of ice came out of nowhere. 10 minutes later it was over, but it destroyed 2 power-vents and the AC cover, and the AC too. 2 hours later I was out on a mtn bike ride HAHAAA! Thankfully insurance will cover much of the cost. Nice clip: keep it up!!
I was leaving Modesto north toward Sacramento, and a storm warning was issued. I had to go east over Donner to Reno, and POW! I got hit halfway up the pass. I chained up but it did not good. I was covered by 8 feet of snow in 6 hours and there was no moving at all. After the weekend, I was able to dig out and continue. That was the most snow I ever experienced in 6 hours, but I grew up where we would get 6 feet overnight. And we got so much snow several times that we walked right out of the 2nd floor bedroom windows several times, straight out in level snow. Shoveling... Took WEEKS. TRAVEL WAS IMPOSSIBLE until everything was cleared.
Living up here in central Canada snow is a given, over the years owning 4x4's as my daily drivers, quick to learn they are not invincible when it comes to ice and deep snow.... can get yourself in a real pickle easily getting overly complacent.... I'm just speaking from years of experience so i can sympathise ).... keep up the great exploring adventures and please be safe out there guys👍
The bigger issue that is magically absent in this video is that lowering the roof with any snow load will damn near break your neck. I have a Four Wheel camper and I’ve spent plenty of time in the snow with it. It really isn’t a safe roof lift/lowering system with any type of weight. This is the sole reason I am looking for an alternative to my Four Wheel camper. But thanks Dr. for making it look so simple.
its 93 degrees outside my house right now. heat index of 103. crazy high humidity. i see these videos and say thats it. im moving away from the heat. done with it. but then in 6 months when there's a foot of snow on the ground and 20 mph winds that make it 0 degrees out ill be watching other videos of florida, arizona and be saying thats it. im done. tired of this cold. i just cant find a happy medium
Yikes. Clearly very little experience with real snow here. Love your videos. I’m concerned other CA peeps will think it is easy or fun. Nothing here was particularly ‘tough’. Where the truck was stuck showed his inexperience with real snow. Truck tires are also I’ll suited. Just be careful when showing weather like this. It can kill. FYI - if plows came by before you got up there really was no real threat. Unless you live in LA. I mean then it could/would kill you.
Hey interesting to see how the FWC performs in a snow storm. Do you have any idea how much weight it can stand on top before the top comes down "automatically" 🤔😳 _cR
Having owned a FWC, I had the same concern. The roof used to be made of 1" square, 0.060 wall aluminum tubing. Maybe the new ones are much stronger - They would have to be to withstand 2 feet of snow without buckling. Also, even a few inches would make lowering the roof dangerous.
My hubby and I are purchasing a pop-up truck camper for our Ram for this exact reason - to chase our Colorado storms and get an early rise for our splitboarding adventures. :). The summertime climbing and mtb trips are a plus.
Split boards originated in 1991. They're sort of a snowboarder's equivalent of randonee skis, but less versatile. www.rei.com/product/159357/jones-solution-splitboard-mens-20192020

Do you have a “CB” radio to call out for help. They have a 20 mile range. Channel 10 for emergency, but the other 39 channels have people talking on them all the time, you can talk to them and they in turn could call the local authorities for you., plus it’s a great way to make new friends

lastiklerin hava basıncını düşürürseniz diş aralıkları kapanır ve karda tutunmayı azaltır
Yeah, chains. Airing down reduces clearance and doesn’t improve traction in snow. Other than that, high spirits are essential!
I know... I'm like WHAT? Maybe they just did it for the "content", but snow like that you automatically put chains on.
Most beautiful doctor I've ever seen in my life
I was just wondering how much weight the roof can hold since you were in a heavy snow storm?
Too awesome! Stay amazing my friend!
Cool. Props for sharing your adventure. Crazy times we are experiencing, glad to see someone finding some positive things.
its 93 degrees outside my house right now. heat index of 103. crazy high humidity. i see these videos and say thats it. im moving away from the heat. done with it. but then in 6 months when there's a foot of snow on the ground and 20 mph winds that make it 0 degrees out ill be watching other videos of florida, arizona and be saying thats it. im done. tired of this cold. i just cant find a happy medium
Whenever I watch videos like these, I always think of how they set the cameras up. Like at 5:20
She isn’t alone...
If you play in the mountains you should keep a set of tires chains in your rig.
Snowboarding AWESOME! You should fit that rig with a personal weather station and internal tire inflation and deflation system.
The perimeter lighting is great...love the set up...Greenwood BC Canada
Hmmm....could you buy one of those for my bday....very rugged indeed....
My hubby and I are purchasing a pop-up truck camper for our Ram for this exact reason - to chase our Colorado storms and get an early rise for our splitboarding adventures. :). The summertime climbing and mtb trips are a plus.
That is awesome! I hope you love it=) I have a Ford truck right now, shoulda gotten a Ram because it has a much better turning radius=)
Great video! Luv the setup~
1st time watching..... to funny love her always smile
Can we all count how many times she used the totally epic new term “split boarding”?
Split boards originated in 1991. They're sort of a snowboarder's equivalent of randonee skis, but less versatile.

flawlessly clean truck
That’s awesome till someone or something closes the spare wheel holder and locks you in. 🤔
I wondered about that too
Needs an emergency window exit or at least small window access to cab
Door has a window that opens. Reach out deal with it.
always carry chains i been 4x4 ing in bc mountains all my life and chains got me out and home many times and i had a beautiful lady like hanna but lost her in car accident life sucks sometimes there sure is more still to explore
Your weight made all the difference 🤣😂🤣😂🤣.
Don’t do that girl!
4 hours north of Toronto in Kearney , Ontario , Canada , at my cousins cottage , we couldn't even get in the driveway as the snow was 5-6 feet high and that was one snowfall .....We had to park on the road and walk the half mile in carrying bags and stuff ...... .That was fun , not ! ....used the snowmobile to make a path and pull the remaining stuff up ......
you are such a natural in front of the camera , very easy on the eyes and ears :]
Awesome, finely a capable OffRoad Truck, Super Cool, love your Snowboarding, look really relaxing and fun.
Why didn't you put tire chains on?
Do
you have a “CB” radio to call out for help. They have a 20 mile range. Channel
10 for emergency, but the other 39 channels have people talking on them all the
time, you can talk to them and they in turn could call the local authorities
for you., plus it’s a great way to make new friends
Looks like a lot of fun; thanks for posting this. If we cannot be there, we can at least vicariously enjoy the adventure. Stay safe.
Wow. What a fantastic set up you have.
Always looking forward to your next video and that beautiful smile!!
Hello really nice enjoyable video you almost make as if the viewer is skiing down the slope with you.
And she's back!!!
That beast of a truck had no problem in that 2 in of snow !
Hey Doc. I think I am getting a fever, please check my temp
It involves a rectal thermometer ya perv
I did not know about split boards until I watched this video. Neat invention. Nice powder. Also I like the big truck big tires and the camper. I also like the other guys Toyota too. Two very nice trucks. I'm gonna go check out this camper. I REALLY like this video. Keep up the good fun!
I have never gotten stuck. Its called CHAINS! You never go into the back-country during winter without Chains!
I’ve never seen that much snow in person. Ever. It snowed here once or twice. But literally not enough to even make a snowman. I’ve always wanted to experience a true snowing winter wonderland.
@Texen Renegade 5 winters ago we enough in our 1st snowfall of the yr to last the whole winter. 7ft in 1 day & no mountains anywhere near! $ it was all gone in 10 days!
3:35 really that got you stuck ? My kia soul with snow tires could have backed out of there ....

The snow's getting pretty nuts.
I think it's time to find camp.
Next shot it look's to be 2 inches of snow ❄ on the ground . . .🤣
I'm putting my weight on the back so he can get out of this, all 100 lbs
I would guess 126
You're both wrong. 113.
Mike Hermes She looks like she weighs about as much as a fart in the wind but has the stones to pick up the truck and change the tire without a jack. And she’s beautiful and sweet. Whoever is with her is one lucky SOB. What a life to live!
How much do sandbags in the back of a pickup weigh genius?
@@vegataxkc I guess you don't even have a clue what we are talking about, do you ?
I love snowboarding. And camping in the snow. Enjoy. Our mountains here in California have had 3 foot the other day. Unfortunately resorts are closed. You seem amazingly fun. Enjoy! Be safe.
