there is a theory which is also true:
The enemies (snatchers) in this world did not have electrolytes (basically batteries that powered enemies from Raidens world). If Raiden took his sword, he would be in an disadvantageous state (no slow-mo slashing etc)
still sad that we couldnt go slash slash...
