The Fire Department I Volunteer for in Virginia, US, will bring them to your house and install them for free. We also replace batteries for free. Thanks for this video. Might save a life or property. Cheers!

Wotcha Chopper. The fire departments here do the same thing. If you ask them to do a fire safety check, they’ll come out and check your property and advise you on flammables, escape routes, what improvements you can make and give you general good fire related advice. They’ll also provide free smoke and heat alarms. But most people who work don’t use the service and opt to buy their own. Hence the need for this video. Cheers.

Agreed, a battery that lasts seven years is pretty impressive… unless you paid for a battery that should last 10 years 😉

I've had various 'free' smoke alarms before and what you get have sat in stock for years, hence the short battery life.
