Their concerts have amazing energy. Especially when when John busts out his fog cannons strapped to his wrists. Or in between songs when they let Jen go nuts on the drums. And then she buckles up, the drums get lifted and tilts 90 degrees and starts spinning while she’s going nuts
One of Skillet's best songs is called Rebirthing it's on their 2006 album Comatose Korey sings with John on it
I saw Skillet in concert a few years ago. They blew the roof off the venue

I've seen Skillet live about 6 times and after this song came out they did perform it as their closer. They did change the arrangement a little bit but kept the ending the same.

@@mynamejeff1348 I am involved with several musical projects, unfortunately none of them are doing anything due to this pandemic. I don't mention the names of the projects or bands I'm involved with , because I don't want anyone saying that I'm using this channel as a platform to promote them. However, a couple of viewers have found out at least one of the bands I'm involved with just by using Google search....dunno how they did, but they confirmed with me.
As far as Skillet goes, I'm liking a lot of the stuff I've heard from them doing reactions to them. I've done a lot of reactions to them, definitely check them out on the channel.

You nailed the reaction man, I love this song and didn't even think about the bridge that much until you mentioned it about being Poppy, but your right, and they could have kept that driving instead of making it a pop sound and the bass is missing in the mix overall which is a shame! Saw them in San Antonio in 2019 and the venue was right next to train tracks. I know it wasn't planned, however they were singing this song and when the chorus was going Heavy as a hurricane, Louder than a freight train. A freight train drove right next to the concert and it made it burst with more energy. Psyching myself up to see them Oct. 1st.
If you get a chance, check out "Out of Hell".... You don't have to do a reaction to it, that doesn't matter. The song is flarking FIRE.... Rock on, man!
As a Panhead, I love this review. It’s honest and fair, covers it all. Skillet is super high energy and when they’re live add another 75% energy to what they already have on the record. You’re 100% right on the ending song at live concerts, The Resistance is the end, but they make you think that the previous song “Rebirthing” is the end, but after about 2 to 3 minutes of “One more song” chants, they come back with The Resistance and it literally a kick in the teeth (in a good way). It’s 3 years later, I really hope that you’ve gotten a chance to see Skillet live.

Hello David, this is my review of The motherflippin’ Resistance.
Vocally, the song is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite. Jen is an incredible addition, I dig the combination of her in John throughout the chorus, and I love her little snippets in Verse one. However, if she was in the song more, this would have gotten a higher score. John, honestly, once again, stole the show. He is hitting so many high points. His voice in the verses is so intriguing and keeps you into the song. His “this is how we rise up, it’s our resistance. YOU CANT RESIST US!” is the best vocal point of the whole song.
Instrumentally, HOLY GOD. The opening, like you mentioned, is so powerful. The metal strings sound phenomenal, and in the chorus it sounds so freaking OTHERWORLDLY. IT SOUNDS GODLY AS ALL HELL, and pairs with the vocals pitch perfectly. However, the drums sold. The drums, oh my god, Jen is rocking it out. My favorite part was at 9:25, played amazingly.
And about the ending solo………
10/10 solo. The riff of the solo is 22 1st quadrillion times better than the song. It’s so upbeat, and moments like 11:21 and 11:24 are what made this stand out. That ending- no like- the ending to the ending. I’m talking about 11:53 - 11:56. That was the most memorable 3 seconds of my life. And remember when I said that 9:25 was my favorite moment? I lied. Those little sections where they went off the riff and did something different, that was my favorite moment.
So yeah, The Resistance. Final score?
9.1/10.

A solid song overall. When I first heard this song I wasn't a fan of the instrumental at the end (I'd never heard a song that did that before and so to me it felt forced) but over time it's grown on me.
since you liked this song I think you would also like Back To Life. Similar feel, also a great show closer. It's also the last song on the album it was on (Victorious) just like The Resistance was (Unleashed).

Btw if you didnt know, korey does all the production work for them, and they rarely have an outside prodcution crew
This popped up on my "recommended", which to sure, I'm really not that much of a fan of Skillet, but I understand the appeal. Or more to the point, as good as Skillet is in their respective genre, Red, I think is better-- certainly more, er, challenging musically. If you like switching up the feel of a song, there;s no one better right now than the band Red.
But man does Skillet put on quite the live show.
"Let Go", "Sever", "Feed the Machine", "Faceless" and the list goes on.
i can back up his statement because before covid i saw them 3 times in 7 months. they are one of those bands that u can see every night because there live performances are so great. i haven't seen them live in over a year and coming up this september ill be seeing them twice in 4 days. saw red live on the same stage skillet played the night before and they threw water on me and gave me there guitar pick. was awesome

I’m pretty sure Seth Morrison uses a PRS Tremonti. That would explain why the guitar tone is so RICH ;)
Those PRS Guitars can sound really good with the right pickups. I love it when someone slaps a set of dual EMG's in there.
@@THEDavidHeretic Yeah I’m not sure what pickups Seth has on his I’m guessing all the ones that come on the signature model which Tremonti has signature pickups and bridges too.

The few concerts I’ve seen, this song they started a 3 song encore with it.... they’ve done it in the middle of set... but most of their live songs, they’ll do alternate intros to a few songs as well as outros... they are very unpredictable live... they will The Resistance but live they’ll do it in Drop A
They play this song as there encore

Great video! I would like to see your reaction to Kabát-Banditi Di Praga or Burlaci. It's a rock band from the Czech republic and they have great songs. I would say, that is the most popular band in Czech and Slovakia. And they have won several prices in Czech republic. But the texts are czech so you won't understand it but still i would like to see your review on them.

Yes please, i really like Kabát, one of the best slavic bands even i don't understand every word. My favorite song is Mala dama which i heard on Eurovision in Denmark from then I listen their music. But Burlaci and Banditi Di Prag is also one of my favorite. Greetings from Poland
