Hamas carried out their massacre of jews on October 7 and the next day hezbullah with no territorial dispute with Israel whatsoever also began firing rockets into Israel on a daily basis ever since and have continued doing so till 5his day and what u expect is for Israel to sit idle and tolerate the nonsense. The US and Israel both had intelligence that surely after 5 AM a large attack would take place. They therefore conducted preemptive strikes. This was later confirmed when has itself admitted that they had plans of having all the rockets fire at exactly 5:15 AM after prayers and all of the rockets were preemptively set up and prepped to launch so by conducting the preemptive strike they destroyed thousands of rockets.
Preemptive attack is based on accurate military intelligence. They need to ensure that what happened on October 7 will not happen again to Israel or else Lebanon will look like Gaza. Should that happen, then it will be an escalation. I guess you know this but you, perhaps, hate seeing thousands of rockets and missiles of Hezbollah were destroyed.
They took something and made it worse and worse and worse. People do not want this and as Americans we do not want to pay for this.

Iron Dome is basically become a colloquial term for Israeli missile, rocket & drone defence. Even if it, strictly speaking, only refers to very specific part of the Israeli defence network.
Realistically, the difference is minimal. Point is, Iranian thing got intercepted by an Israeli thing.

The Iron Dome is never referenced for David's Sling, or the Arrow II or III, just like we dont confuse JDAMs with ICBMs, or the S300 with the S400.
The counterpoint is Israel's multinational, multilayered AD net was penetrated by legacy missiles, and that Iran's flagship missiles will easily penetrate their multilayered AD net in the future.

We actually make quite a bit of money selling military equipment to all these countries. Between 100 and 200 billion dollars a year and rising actually. So should we send troops? I'd say no, but unless you have some other way to make up 200 billion dollars a year, we'll keep selling equipment.

Saying Israel intercepted all incoming Iranian missiles using iron dome is 100% incorrect:
1) Iran hit targets inside Israel
2) Jordan, Saudi Arabia intercepted missiles
Iron Dome don't intercept ballistic missiles. They fly at higher altitudes. Arrow system does that.
1) A couple of ballistic missiles landed in Israel but they were insignificant. Israel's air defense systems intercept more than 90% of the projectiles this is world class, the best the world has ever seen. Prove me wrong.
2) Although Israel made headlines stating Jordan assisted. There is no evidence of Jordan intercepting projectiles. Even if Jordan did assist, they probably intercept drones. Jordan doesn't have the capability to intercept missiles outside of space. Saudi Arabia shares the same problem with Jordan, they lack the capability.
And u are incorrect too, cos Iran hits nothing. Just 1 missile that caused 0 damage.

Intercepting ballistic missiles & drones requires entirely differently systems from intercepting unguided rockets fired from launchers.
It is a lot 'easier' to intercept a few ballistic missiles and drones where you have literal HOURS between launching and when they hit. Than it is to hit rockets where you really don't have long at all. Not only that, they have totally different systems.
Aircraft can be used to intercept drones.
Good luck using aircraft to intercept rockets.
The Iron Dome system is needed to intercept rockets, and it only has so many launchers, with so many interception missiles to fire. That is why Israel has programmed the Iron Dome to actually predict where the rockets will land and fire at those which prevent the biggest risk.

One US carrier group is more powerful than most entire nation's navies. Three in the area is more powerful than almost any nation.
And we don't know about the submarines either. That said, I wish they were not there.
1. Why does the US provide munitions to Israel when Israel can produce them itself? The answer is simple, US aid can only be used to purchase US made weaponry.
2. Why does the US aid Israel? Because the US gains more than Israel. Israeli technology transfer, intelligence sharing of the middle east, bases to park your logistic footprint, influence, leverage, stimulus for the US economy and military industries, and come with string attached often cutting out the competition etc..
3. What happens if the US stops aiding Israel? Israel becomes dependent on its own production line. Israel has its own defense industry and will no longer be required to be under the pressure of US interests. Receiving aid from the US makes Israel committed to US' interests and pressure. The US pressures Israel to not export Israeli made arms to certain countries deemed rogue by the US or hostile to the US. Now how much of revenue is lost annually because of this?
4. Why would the US continue to aid Israel? The aid the US provides to Israel are not free gifts. The US brokered a deal promising aid if Israel returns Sinai back to Egypt. Yes, the US made Israel give up 60,000 km2 of land (3 times bigger than Israel today) promising aid in return.
5. Does the US benefit from aiding Israel? Absolutely, Israel battle tested US F-15, F-16 and F-35, promoting US weapons to the world as capable and combat proven thus increasing interests and sales for the US and then sharing operation data of the systems back to the US. Another benefit for the US is that the aid effectively "kills" Israeli military systems that competes with US made systems.
