    India
    Avg salary 20 lakhs rs avg house price 20 cr villa and apartment 2cr
    PRICE/CTC ratio -> 100x
    US
    Avg salary 100K avg house price 1 million
    PRICE/CTC ratio -> 10x
    India is atleast 10 time expensive for avg man compare to US.

    Pricing of india and US in real state are similar for metro cities.
    In hyderabad where I live, it is difficult to good independent house/villa in less than 20cr, although apartment you can get in 2-3 cr.
    I think why india prices is on par with US is because in India population is more and competition for living in metro is high.
    And in US you can live in suburbs and still get all infra. In India if you are not in metro city you can not get good schooling, hospital , civic amenities etc. So demand it too high in India 80% of population live in 1% of land.

      Very well said, India suberbs and 2/3 cities are not well developed, unlike in the US. Same is the case w Canada too 90% of population lives in 100kms of US border. So Vancover, Toronto, Waterloo, Ottawa, Mon Real r the most populated cites and outside of these whole Canada is empty.
