The reason why the channel is growing so fast is rather ominous for the world… I’d be willing to bet it’s going to grow a lot more in the coming days… The lake is dropping much much faster than the news we got just a month ago, and less than a year after a federal emergency was declared it looks to be coming to and end after 30 years of declining pool… it looks doubtful they’ll make it to the next spring melt… unfortunately….

All the drought is from deforestation around the world. It's causing the ground to warm and lower the moisture levels through heat. As much as companies have said for years "global warming is caused by fossil fuels"....it's really not. It's cause from deforesting, especially the rain forests. And this essentially affects every other place on earth. The ones who will suffer first is desert communities like this. And then the prairies. And next the forests. We are already slowly seeing the effects all around the world. The prairies can no longer suffice to grow food because the soil is so dry and even with irrigation it cannot retain the moisture long enough before evaporation. And the dry from winds. The forests now burn from spring to winter. It's just funny how hard the environmental companies come at the oil companies. When the ones who have deforested the most without replanting (Oil companies in North America replant the entirety of what they deforest) are actually companies building consumer grade products and non essentials. All these problems could easily be solved if we had competent people in the world that didn't just worry about profits. But , they're busy worrying about releasing a new iphone every year instead of building an iphone that is good for 15+ with the latest technologies, and cars that will be obsolete within a year because the next generation is out next year....and so on. It does not make sense to build a reservoir in the middle of the dessert. The evaporation will eventually dry up if the Colorado river does not feed it to keep it going.
If you want to fix this, we need to pump sea water to Death Valley. Then near the highest peak by lake Manley spray the sea water into the air. The evaporation will carry to Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Should solve the problem in a year or two.
@@bjw9529 like forced evaporation, make the spray fine enough and the heat in Death Valley should evaporate most of it before it hits the ground. Then you’re left with piles of salt, borax, lithium, etc. Could also have it only start spraying after 2pm so the rocks get nice and hot. Barley fill lake manly then shut them off. You do that for 30 days and I bet lake Powell and lake mead fill back up.
I know the sport of fishing but instead of hassling with launch, poles and bait, I'm just going to pick the fish from the dry ground! At the rate the lake is drying up. I'll get to do this, say, in about couple of weeks?
I'm from a small town called Truth Or Consequences N.M and elephant butte lake has been drying up for years but sorta like lake mead its dropping quite a bit more the past few years! it's a man-made lake so I've been told so maybe that has something to do with it .sounds like the west is drying up all around man its kinda sketchy you think?
That looks fun throwing a bait into the boils. We were fishing for largemouth bass and it was getting close to dark when the fish started boiling the water on each side of the boat. We got a fish almost every cast. We didn’t get any big ones, but it was still fun.
When I saw boil in the title I thought they were literally boiling in really shallow pools of water. I’ve seen these round holes in dried up areas where it’s cracked and thought they were getting stuck in those round holes and boiling. What are those round holes where the bed is cracked all around them? I’ve seen a lot but can’t find an answer to what they are and what causes them.
This was fairly common on Elephant Butte lake in TorC New Mexico. White Bass did the same thing to the shad. Fishing was AWESOMLY NUTS in thoes boils. WE had a Canoe. Saw a boil, raced into the lake INTO the boil & there were 1000s of RATTLESNAKES in a mating ball causing it. We were beating snakes off with the paddles like madmen before we got clear. Couldnt row out, too busy hitting the snakes trying to get into the canoe with us. Springtime when the rattlers first come out is when they mate & Diamondbacks LOVE the water & are excellent swimmers both on top & underwater. And yes, they CAN & WILL bite you underwater. Then the state put stripers & striper/ white bass hybreds into that lake & THEY ate EVERYTHING. The sunfish, Trout, crappies, catfish & others just dissappeared as the stripers took over compleatly. Our favorite lure was the old standard red/white Daredevils. They worked on EVERYTHING. BTW, that lake is drying up too.
I went fishing at echo Bay Saturday we stayed till Sunday the fish was bol like crazy I caught the first striper and it almost pulled my fishing pole in the water when my cousin caught a smallmouth bass and two small catfishes and a carp I caught three stripers and smallmouth bass yesterday was a good day on the water

@@bobojames8978 I just dont see why we can't transport water from all these states that have flooding issues to states in a drought. Shit if we can do it with oil why can't we do it with water
It does not make sense to build a reservoir in the middle of the dessert. The evaporation will eventually dry up if the Colorado river does not feed it to keep it going.
Bro after seeing what they’re feeding on you need to take your fly rod out there. You’ll have a blast.
I love fly fishing
Cool I am the second comment ... In Sanders Arizona June 5th 2022 our local well was running dry .. I saw another well not dry
If you want to fix this, we need to pump sea water to Death Valley. Then near the highest peak by lake Manley spray the sea water into the air. The evaporation will carry to Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Should solve the problem in a year or two.
Like create weather? Really?
@@bjw9529 like forced evaporation, make the spray fine enough and the heat in Death Valley should evaporate most of it before it hits the ground. Then you’re left with piles of salt, borax, lithium, etc. Could also have it only start spraying after 2pm so the rocks get nice and hot. Barley fill lake manly then shut them off. You do that for 30 days and I bet lake Powell and lake mead fill back up.
Man I wish I was having this much fun with the end of the world
Up north we use Zara spooks for striper boils they go nuts for them when you walk them in the boil.
Cool video bro. Up here in Chicago me and my guys only use 30lb braid and up. Nothing gets off the hook.
Having a fish on the line is the best feeling in the world.
they say" fishing is a jerk on one end of a line... waiting for a jerk on the other end"... lol
That looks fun throwing a bait into the boils. We were fishing for largemouth bass and it was getting close to dark when the fish started boiling the water on each side of the boat. We got a fish almost every cast. We didn’t get any big ones, but it was still fun.
We need to divert the rain in the PNW for a week. Been raining up here since October, we finally hit 20C for the first time this year, ridiculous
Today we are getting an atmospheric rain dump of 30-40mm, all the crops up here haven't even started to bud because of the lack of sun

Speaking of the clear minnows, I've used a husky jerk see thru / glass bait in those situations. I wasn't let down.
That looks like so much fun!
In a couple months you’ll be in a wading pool, you can just pick them up😂
This was fairly common on Elephant Butte lake in TorC New Mexico.
"Aw, is just a Big One." 🤣🤣🤣
