Thanks, it is going to be exciting to see his development now that he is a master. I think he is the real deal.

Nice analysis, very lucid. Some channels do more with analysis of side lines but none are more instructive than this approach.

Great video as always. I like that you also occasionally drop nice references for chess players who may not be as versed in the game -- like mentioning chess structures multiple times. Seems intuitive, but it's the sort of thing that someone who is focused on trying to learn opening theory might forget about, the importance of structures and even how openings and transpositions can lead to certain structures. In fact, understanding some of the structures can help guide people in playing openings, transpositions and carrying out certain trades later in the game.

Thanks! And you are definitely right about the importance of understanding structures.

Wow! Thank you for that detailed analysis. I remember this game because of Tani's knight to B5 then bishop to E3 sequence. I had no idea who Cristian Chirila was at the time so thank you for that too! Third, thanks for the phrase Maroczy Bind. Now I have a name for it.

@@chessdawg Can you do an analysis of Title Tuesday game between MVL and Tani? Held a draw with the black pieces against a world blitz champ 😳

Very good analysis and quite entertaining as well as instructive. I would like to see how Tani develop as he seeks to become grandmaster - so please feature some more of his games.

Thank you. I definitely want to cover more of his games. They are a little hard to dig up at the moment. He hasn't played in a rated tournament since November. But as soon as I get the games, I will cover them.

Finally, some decently paced chess knowledge! Great job hooking & explaining me throughout the entire video.
Thanks for that! Subbed & looking forward to more :)!
PS: Even subbed without the gentle reminder of "having to do so" ;D..

Why can't black take the free pawn f4 at 8:48? Why push the rook to c3?

Rf1 pin is the problem I believe, If e5 to defend the knight then g3 wins it. If Ke5, then Rae1 check wins it.

why you never feature Ryo Chen but always Tani, Ryo and others same age beats Tani but you give no credit at all.

    • @chessdawg

Well, not exactly. I did a top 5 U.S. prodigies video and Tani was fifth on that list. Although, you are right, Ryo is a beast and just recently gained an IM norm. Expect a video soon. There will be more Tani videos coming too. He has a great story and people like those videos.
