Remembering Ritz - Otto Senior NV (Curacao)

A trip down Curacao's memory lane.
Do you remember eating a Temptee, or a Palu Friw? Or buying a papurèshi "tres-colores" from the Portuguese ice cream vendor's garoshi?
RITZ ice cream was produced on Curacao from 1938 until the beginning of the 21st century, only a short while after the family-owned company was sold.
This 9-minute videographic document tells the story of Otto & Lalinda Senior's ice cream parlour in Punda, that grew to be the island's major dairy industry.
Historic still photos of Punda in the 1940s and '50s are followed by footage of the dairy plant operation at Scharloo, shot in the mid-1990s by David Serphos.
The video is accompanied by three popular songs by Curacao's troubadour, Rudy Plaate: "Mi ke sa", "Solo sali" and "Nos isla".
