Darren, you get +50 then +100 then +150 then +200 of each workforce on ALL islands as you hit certain milestones of island square footage over all regions.
Indeed, I believe it is the Conqueror influence perk he unlocked a couple of minutes prior.
Excellent episode! I would definitely go for Manola, but “Beryl’s” island is growing on me the more I look at it… we will be happy with whatever you choose! I appreciate that you’re taking your fleet progression slowly, taking advantage of the mobility of the frigates.
Old habits die hard, I see. All of those manual deliveries of construction materials are killing me.....set up a construction route, man! (with minimums, of course)

I wouldn't bother with the island that Baryl took from under you. I'd focus on the fertilities you need... like corn
The new world islands definitely look like a good choice, hopefully you can nab another one with the other resources you need!

I hope you add the ship mods, the ones that add the massive battleships, like the aircraft carrier, and other large mid 1900s battle cruisers. The massive modern battleships add so much to late game when you go to war with the ai.
Settle the big island and also buy hers to have more control you can do it I belive in you its a nice series so far I am really impressed and would love if there would be a coop option to play together this game with some people I used to play anno 1404 was one of the best so far till this one now it looks amazing and fun with lots of mods would need to give it a try some day
You dont need fur since you have fulfilled alternative need for artians "suits"
Fur coats can be sold to madame kahina for 1000 each, so I think that might worth setting up… maybe

What I really enjoy is when production buildings are mixed with the residents and not segregated. Peasants houses next to their farms and animals, workers by the docks with the air around them polluted with smokes from the steel plants. Their faces black with sooth from the weapons factory , the artisans commoners in the lower region with clean specialized industries and bakeries. the investor nobility with their banks, palaces and malls. Waking up to the smell of freshly baked breads from the bakery nest to the university, Like a realistic and functional city. But alas😢

one thing that confuses me though: Do you have the ship capacity mod on? your trade routes show a +100 when loading goods, but you could only load 50 tons per slot on the clippers. that seems weird (in my mod, sailing ships have 75 per slot and steam ships 100 per slot... might be a different mod though). Just an observation, love the series!

Hi Darren, which mod gives you the ability to transfer 100t per cargo slot on ships?
Idk if someone has said it yet, but why not set up a soap trade to just guarantee positive cash flow? Id recommend also doing it with gold watches later with Enbesa.

I've never played with mods. Is it worth it, or does it just make it too easy? Seems like all these boosts would make the AI irrelevant. Any tips on a good mod set to expand game play but not take away the challenge?

No, ideally I’d keep them happy and never fight tbh. Just fight pirates and maybe eventually Alonso as he is Expert difficulty snd will start destroying the others. It’ll likely be quite a while Im afraid!
@@WhatDarrenPlays I like to directly attack my strongest opponent. Of course I play on normal and just abuse Beryl. I purposely make her super angry and then just blockade her trade routes. Gives a little extra fun while I build. Also, great content. Would love to see a CS2 long form series now that it is playable with a couple mods.
20:11 why have two trade routes going to the same islands while their return trips are empty? Why not merge the trade routes together I.e. importing meat, peppers, soap, and hops; while exporting bread, schnapps, and suits.
Because there’s no gurantee they’ll be empty when coming back. You could throw excess goods overboard (a waste) or you could “wait until empty” which would block the port.
