Cataclysm DDA
I'd probably be interested in dissecting the the skinny and fat zombies together and observe if the infection has any interactions with high body fat content within the body that are absent in the infected with more normal or depleted levels of body fat. The blob clearly has a enormous mutagenic effect upon different tissue types, and and even interacts with things directly on the host like with the Kevlar zombie.
What fascinates me is the mutations present within soldiers, particularly the acid spitting ones. They seem to develop much more complex spitting organs compared to regular spitting zombies, and can fire their projectiles with a significantly higher degree of accuracy. I wonder if the marksman training in real life, and the changes that would have caused in their brain and nervous system in real life, is giving the blob more mutational influence, having more foundations for motor control and target tracking to work with.

In regards to prototype cyborgs - I'm not sure about magiclysm or mind over matter, but in base-game the only way to get the EMP effect needed to disable them are EMP grenades, EMP bombs or the dazzle rifle. EMP bombs can be crafted (though they are very difficult to craft), grenades and the dazzle are only available from HUB01.
It's really interesting that parts of the shocker zombies brains are smoothed out and the structure of the folds on the brain have been altered, I wonder if the brain is the source of the electricity and it's channelling it through it's neurons

If u can power things u should get it that power suit and be able to power it forever. Also maybe try practicing channeling some more to see what it upgrades into.
There is bionic that do EMP, I think it's the only way to disable them beside EMP grenade or EMP rifle.
Electric damage is not count as EMP
Are you ever going to get dusk to take a mutagen. Or maybe a purifier to fix her unstable genetics?
I sore the prototype and thought dusk would help them finding out it was candy but nope i was wrong and the head cannon got dark.

Don’t quote me on this, I could be wrong but the exact creature you dissect isn’t what gives you the crit chance, it’s the proficiencies that give you the crust and act as a blanket for all the zombies in that category.
Not entirely sure on this one, the wiki would likely have the answer but CDDA wikis are at best 3 years out of date and at worst completely wrong.
Its actually both. Blanket skills worked as you described but you also get even more crit chance when you dissect a creature with a level of fine cutting. I think it's something like 2.5 perfent per level of fine cutting, meaning that dissecting with an x-acto knife gives 5 percent crit while a scapel gives 7.5

@@pbsixgun6 they did nerf mind powers, you are not wrong. his falure rate is significantly higher now then when we started the run. they rebalanced falure chance so that you need to level up diffrent skills and use things like extended channeling.
I really like that you've been sort of roleplaying Elliot as like fusing or connecting with dusks own presence after his demise. I guess that's why Dusk figures she can bring Elliot back somehow.
For those who don't know what he means by CBM power affecting Magic, installing bionic power takes away from your mana pool. So if you have 1000 mana capacity and install 300 bionic power, your max mana goes down to 700. There are also other effects like mana regeneration while bionic power is charging or low and what not. It's all meant to balance late game, so you can't be too overpowered.
i personally would prefer the enemies becoming more dangerous and eldritch horrors spawning on the surface to offset the new power gained by the player, to keep them on their toes rather than force them into magic or bionics.
@@v84l42 Yeah I kind of agree but I don't think it's that bad, you can get additional mutations and other things to attempt to raise your mana pool, you can start relying more on mana potions maybe if you can manufacture those yourself. I personally would like the external environment to become more dangerous though. And for more dangerous things to be added by the magic mod itself. I think a lot of the magic powers though wouldn't be that hampered overall, mainly directly offensive spells probably like lighting bolt might take a hit. But I think things like stormfist or storm hammer could be very easily relied upon even with a low mana pool and regeneration. things like mage armour would probably still be good to go too. I'm more close to neutral on it personally as someone who's barely played the game. I really gotta learn the control interface it's a little overwhelming at the start lol.
Really should be dissecting all the zombies because it will allow you to do more damage to them.
Also should look for some surgical gloves and some protective clothing to avoid acid damage
It's really sad, but I think some of the cyborgs might be so relentless in attacking Dusk because getting someone else to kill them might be their only way around those "self-preservation protocols" from their flavor chatter
Yeah that's honestly what I might attempt to do. The way they're described sounds like they're in a dissociated state psychologically. which is a defensive psychological mechanism to protect ones self against extreme trauma. I've been dissociated many times in my personal life and it does just kinda blanket you in a emotional dullness. It would make killing someone a lot easier emotionally. Although it also makes you kind of out of sync with your very environment. Honestly a really good horror element I really like them as a entity within cataclysm.
Around the 32 minute mark, one of the bodies had a solar backpack, don't know if it survived the autopsy but it should be a helpful item
I think they might be able to be ripped apart for solar panel arrays not just singular panels but i'm not sure.
I dissected a worm and a frog, and honestly I found it extremely enjoyable. To the point that my other classmates were a little disturbed with my enthusiasm. it's extraordinarily intellectually stimulating. I don't think dissecting zombies would bother me very much although might trigger some neurological mechanisms to make me upset when I'm actually confronted with a genuine dead "human" body. Those prototype cyborgs though I think would disturb the shit out of me significantly more, especially with the clear expression of intelligence still present in them, and the fact that they had their augmentations inflicted upon them by other humans. Although I think i'd be far more motivated to attempt dissection intellectually because of the augmentation surgeries and a desire to observe how they were implanted.
What i'd be searching for is the mind machine interfacing components that are likely connecting to their brain and inducing locked in syndrome within the person.
That seems to be what they're suffering from, the augmentations are inducing locked in syndrome within their bodies and their brains are probably being uilitized as some kind of processing unit more directly. while they have absolutely minimal control over their own bodies. that's probably were the flashes of pain appearing across them are emerging from, their brains being forcefully interfaced with and drowned in bionic inputs.
Some of the zombies have significantly reinforced connective tissue as well, I think that might have been the batwing zombie you dissected but i'm not sure when you're doing them in bulk.
It would be awesome if you could power the autoclave, but something else you could do is try to find a portable generator in a supply drop, or somewhere else that would have a portable functional generator potentially.
The zombies armour was interesting too, the black goo acting as a binding layer for the composite tissue armour.
Maybe Dusk won't need magic to bring Elliot back if you find another clone of him in a lab
