Yep that's my town's siren right there. They still test it at noon once a day. There's been a few times I've heard it go off due to severe thunderstorms.
@@ChanProB Well it's nice to meet you! I'm the storm chaser responsible for all of Boerne area & San Antonio for the NWS. Chances are you will or have seen me around town in a bright red 2020 civic. It's marked with SKYWARN badges on the windows. In fact, I'm currently watching the thunderstorms to the west of us right now.
My town's sirens are more than loud enough I assure you. This siren is only a few years old. I've heard it go off a few times due to severe thunderstorms.
@@CycloneJoey518 The siren was technically refurbished. That's what I meant by new. But it blasts every day at noon & more than loud enough for the entire city to hear it. Hear it all the time once a day.
That’s a great sounding Champion. Good old bulletproof design.
Feels like a barly champion Instead of a darly champion
Great video!
Thats terrifying thing to hear 3 am in morning inside urban city.

I'm a local too, I live just close enough to hear it go off at noon everyday, but barely lol, sometimes i don't hear it

This thing spins for so freaking long. Also, I'm your 900Th subscriber
Epic darley
Noice
I think some of these were 120v 2hp units with 2 heads.
That was probably the little 10 port "4A23/4U Little Giant Champion" units.
I wish I can make rotating Darley champion as HOR Super Sirex
That's a stupid idea
@@kansasclocksandsirensNot completely, these have cloverleaf coverage so a rotator would fix that, not to mention it's been done with a sterling.
Dem bearings
How loud was it?
They aren’t incredibly loud but they have a rich sound that fills your ears
@@AmericanSirenProductions I was just wondering that because these don't seem to have much projection on them

@@StormChaserMaci. You do realise Darley has been out of buisness for decades right? Or are you saying this siren was instslled here a few years ago?
