oohmy ggod! I cant tell you how much I love you! This movie is almost impossible to find online, and now here I am watching it on TH-cam!!!! I see I'm not the only one being this grateful :D Thanks, and yeah, you're a GODESS!!
Dennis Potter...ok now I've seen practically everything in my life...please call the madhouse. I am officially mad (lol). Thanks for posting the movie!!!!!
BTW: The film is SO not good, though AR looks fabulous! But thanks for downloading it here! It suffered from many problems before it finally got made & it shows! The sound quality on the DVD is so bad you reall have to switch it up high if you want to hear AR at times, & it seems to be constantly 'obscured' by over-powering music, plus the plot is hard to follow!! It's so full of editing mistakes & mixed acting styles, that it's unintentionally comical at times which is a real shame!
If anyone is still looking for a copy of this film, you might like to know that (certainly very recently) HMV were knocking it out on DVD for a mere £3.00; even Alan Rickman's less than finest hour (to be fair the guy put a LOT of effort into it & it should have been great) has to be worth that for a quick look!!
If anyone knows where I can get hold of a good quality copy of the documentary that was shown on TV sometime in the early 90's of the making of this, please let me know. The Alan Rickman Download Haven (brits&clips) have it in full (& I now see that someone has uploaded it on youtube too - from the same source) but it is almost unwatchable due to it's bad quality. It may or may not be called 'Madly, Truly ... Alan Rickman The Making of Mesmer' but it is a behind-the-sceens look at the film.
Thank you for uploading! I am a psychology student and was looking for the movie to learn more about Mesmer. Love Alan Rickman as well!

Franz Mesmer is the inventor of Nightclubs. It was originally called "The Sanctuary" that was designed to steal peoples ability to reason
In this movie he looks AWSOME
You Rock. :)))) THANK YOU!
Does anyone else find it ironic that this was written by Dennis Potter?
pretty much about a blind girl who alans character franz is trying to help or cure her of her blindness

I heard someone say expelliarmus too lol @ 4:49
It looks like it was unrated (?) - but I would imagine it is at *least* a 15, though I would give it an 18 myself lol.
