I don't know how our homestead will turn out when we retire in 3 yrs. Ours will be out in Tombstone. I can only learn from you and Dutch and Crocker's, etc...and stay real close to Jesus!! Thank you Daniel for showing as much as you can, the good, the bad and the ugly.

That was a funny video with the heifer. I do appreciate the step by step with her though because Id like to one day have a small farm. This helps see the reality in getting, raising, and butchering livestock.

I'm new to your channel and I love it so far. It reminds me when I lived in ID with my sister and family a little over a year. They have chickens, pheasants, chuckers, lambs, and eggs from chickens. I loved helping take care of all the farm animals, especially when lambing time came. I spent most of my days outdoors with the animals. Watching these videos just brings all those wonderful memories back to me. Their 3 dogs were alot like yours. Thanks for sharing your farm life with us! Blessings!

Cool video Daniel. Fun cow fact.... Cows have poor vision but they recognize colors and shapes. When you feed her wear the same colors and similar hat. That will get her used to you sooner.

Zoos feed something similar to their animals.
The San Francisco Zoo feeds rabbit pellets to their goats, sheep, ducks and chickens at the petting zoo.
When we have money we feed cracked corn to the ducks, loons and geese at the Marina here.
They love it and the geese get mad when they do not get fed fast enough.

That calf knows she's destined for the freezer! Glad the goats are doing well. How is the garden coming, I got to plant bush beans yesterday and today it rained on them. We've gotten heavy rain almost daily for the past 3 weeks, and it's not even El Nino. But what do i know, I'm just a liberal from California who like to grow food in her backyard.
My mom was born and raised in Frederick,Ok on a farm. My 2 sister were born in Tulsa. I have aunts, uncles and cousins near Tulsa.
It is a two-way street, we get to share your family's life and you get a source of funds to keep building your farm and more videos. Keep up the good work!

So cool! I would LOVE to have one of those feeders! We get our feed from Stillwater Milling also. But we do like Dutch, and put ours in 55 gal. barrels for now. It’s just so much cheaper to buy in bulk.

I think you made a wise purchase. If buying in bulk is cheaper, then that was surely the way to go. I like the fact that you won’t be feeding all the wild critters that way. You might as well feed the critters your hard earned cash right? No, this is much better!

Time to add more feeders as the landlord and bill animal and 50% of the custom grower bill. You keep the profit and fertilizer for your gardens. Make the pen deep bedding and throw in some corn for a few pigs to turn it into compost. Chickens also. Great cost and labor savings addition to the farm. Deer feeder filler also.

I love this approach you've taken. In my POV, you're a bigger channel and most bigger channels pretend the ads are just part of TH-cam. As both a viewer and a fellow(though MUCH smaller) content creator, I appreciate you NOT pretending AdSense doesn't add up. Acknowledging the viewers watching and dealing with ads has a cumulative effect in helping your family is really classy, IMO.

When you thank us for watching at 15:46, you bring us on cam with you, reflected in the windows.
If I could give you a tip, change your bedding to shavings. The hay can very easily transmit sicknesses and could also get gross. The PINE shavings does not easily transmit sicknesses. It's great for insulation. It may be expensive if you buy like 5 at a time, but trust me, it pays off. I know your herd of goat are completely healthy, but shavings could make them even happier. You just have to watch out because goats will try to eat and digest shavings, and it doesnt digest properly in any type of goat, so you have to watch for that. Anyways, shaving are great for goats especially baby goats.

Awesome, congratulations on the feeder....much needed buy and you deserve it. Awwh, more babies, how exciting. Goodness, that heifer is sure spirited, she doesn't seem to like the dogs or you. Be careful Daniel, one of our local farmers was stomped and killed by his loving Bull. Don't go in there without your pistol when no one is home.

I'm thinking Dutch is gonna be a little green with jealousy when he sees your new feed hauler. I can just see him doing a little midnight engineering to rig something up that's similar, probably out of scrap lumber from his house build.
