I’m so thankful I found your channel. I was watching the channels in Cambodia and the temple monkeys. To me they really aren’t much better than the poor baby monkeys they dress up and force to walk upright. Those channel are cruelty dressed up to be cute. Your are well narrated, good quality filming and above you just let them be beautiful wild creatures. I look forward to your next video.
@@janiceray3128I can sympathize with your concerns and issues relating to the Cambodian and also Vietnamese TH-cam channels; but over the years those poor monkeys have been exploited to make the channel owners money in a majority of cases in cruel ways, with the number of adverts embedded within them. A sad loss, but thank you AM for your wonderful tribute to this little one. May he RIP. Please do report in any other babies, and adults, that you see that sadly pass away for whatever reason.
We want him to tell us when someone dies in our groups. You must be new here. So get over it. we love his videos. A.M. your awesome so please keep us updated....
@@BrittanyBuckland-yr8pcwhy the rude comment? The poster was requesting that AM report on any losses, which he does. Why do they have to "get over it" and what do they have to "get over". IMO, your comment was uncalled for and rude.
@@BrittanyBuckland-yr8pcFirstly, I am not new here, that is a very wrong assumption to make, but I see that you are relatively new, having opened your You Tube account in 2023. FYI, I have been watching AMs videos since 2016 when he first started recording the various troops on his weekly hike up Monkey Hill; and have also made, over the years any number of posts on both his TH-cam Channels. The comment by@geminichalimar sums up their feelings concerning your uncalled for rude comment.
The innocence of babyhood is beautiful. Their innocence is want drives the desire to nurture and protect them. I would happily feed and cuddle this little one, protect it with my life. God has given us those instincts.
I think this past year has seen the most losses ever since AM has followed them. Bossy, Bubby, Bessie, and Gypsy lost new babies. Dorty had a stillbirth. Then Tina, Fozzi, Demi, and Bee lost their babies. That's 9 babies gone. There were 3 adults lost - Becky, Ridgy, Vivy. Next, Leo was ousted. Poor Bossy lost 2 children and 2 grandbabies which is heartbreaking for her. She should be nearing the end of her reproductive years too. Here's hoping for a better year this year; full of healthy, happy babies. BTW, AM, your music picks always fit the scenes. I enjoy them and it really brings the videos to life.
@@kendee_ A lot is due to the babies immune system not being fully established and that takes time to develop. Fatal falls and road kill are high on the list of accidents. Malnutrition and infections take days if not weeks to become a cause. Geez , it sure seems like we have lost alot and not just the babies but others as well. I was hoping that we wouldn't lose anymore than we already had in 2023 but its starting to feel like 2024 may not be so kind to our little monkey friends. it would have been nicer to have named him "donatelo" in honor of his granma. poor Demi and Danni and the rest of the family without Donna to protect them its been a tough life but they are young they will thrive. RIP lil one Dan go and enjoy your time with granma!😥🙏
They hate them because they are told lies about them. Like they kidnap human babies and throw them off tall buildings, or they destroy entire crops. All of which is hogwash. They may steal a piece or two of produce from a garden but only because a farmer destroyed their forest to put up his farm. They have to eat, when humans take away the monkeys habitat they take away their food source also. One monkey, in India I believe, did snatch a baby off it’s mother lap, but it didn’t throw it off a building. For the most part monkeys are afraid of humans.
@@hollisblinn7910 so true! we encroach on their habitat even go as far as "cull" or try to control their population with sterilization then blame them when they come in our neck of the woods to survive. pppffft thats how messed up we are.
Demi almost looked to young to have a baby, poor girl losing her first baby that’s so hard to accept especially without Donna to support her. I just knew it had to be Piquillo when you had a curious kiddo looking into your lens. Haha
Trying to guess what happened is futile he could’ve simply fallen out of the tree which does happen. As far as the skin condition, they all have that look at them I mean they do have lice and mites and everything else in the wild and they were preparing for winter their coats change with the seasons you can see on some of them there’s hunks of hair that you could pull out. They also did have a kidnapper amongst them. Whatever it was it’s just sad, he was a cute little guy and it being her first and without having her mama herself is just sad.

Fatal falls and road kill are high on the list of accidents, and it will be difficult to identify what the cause was unless you see the mum carrying her dead babies body around, which they do, for a period of time before abandoning it; sometimes bruising on the head, golf ball eyes etc, can be seen indicating. IMHO, a fatal fall. The info I have given comes from research papers that have been written that are based on field studies over a period of 5-10 years or longer, and have been pier reviewed and can be read online. Some years ago AM did a video on this subject, it's called Q & A retained placenta and infant mortality. If you copy and paste this into the TH-cam search engine, you can see how he explains this in simple terms. Contrast these figures above with the survival rates of lion cubs in their early years and a figure quoted in a nature film recorded in South Africa, that I saw on HDTV recently, stated a 12% survival rate.

Do you think Bo kidnap him and did the same thing to him that she did to the other babies
Depending on his age, I wouldn't be surprised. Bo likes newborns. Dan may have been too old.
I think, Bo just kidnaps the babies from Fozzi and Flöffi.
It is possible but sadly we do not have any proof of this but someone like one of the feeders, may well know something.

She still looks like a baby herself
They have a life span of up to 25 to 30 years, and start to reproduce at 3 to 5 years old, that's the females; although this will vary between troops.
