This is a 1980s sales tape for the Ampex ADO-1000, a "junior version" of the company's popular ADO (Ampex Digital Optics) digital video effects device. All rights are acknowledged.
Those were the days of real time proprietary effects boxes. A lot of programming, but no rendering and re-rendering. About $150 - $200 an hour at post facilities in L.A. during the late 80's/early 90's. Remember Quantel's Mirage and Sony's System-G?
people may laugh now at the effects. But actually thinking about how that pringles-commercial must have been made at the time with this tech makes me humble...

I used ADO in 1988 in a television commercial. It was something fantastic at that time. and producing charged very expensive. Very cool this video.
It's weird to think I was watching this stuff when I was a kid.
Wow! Such crisp video! Much HD!
For real, short of Laserdisc quality this is the best looking video I've seen from the '80s.
I still have my ADO-1000 storage disk!
is there a digital emulation of this?
What's the name of background music??
One of them it's from Keith Mansfield but how 'bout the other 2?
