Craw and I have been working hard to get more of these videos out. There will be two N64 videos next week and the week after! We will try to have two per week as often as possible, but when it is a longer one like this one, there will only be one.
Hey Thab! awesome series, you a have a unique oportunity here to rank the best games for the N64, so it would be cool to create a table with the scores you give at the end of the gameplay, something like Doug Demuro does with cars
the game excels in 4 player N64 multiplayer splitscreen. 17 characters to choose, 20 maps, tons of crazy guns like the Terrance and phillip doll you can fart on and throw and it's an AoE gas bomb. Great game
No, Mr. Hankey is not a candy bar wearing a santa hat. But if you take a snickers bar and put it in a public pool... it kinda looks like what Mr Hankey is.
I'm so glad to see someone actually play this, I've seen so many reviewers over the years just play the first level, maybe fight the boss, and just declare that it's a bad licensed game that's one mission long
There’s actually a canceled GBC version of the game, which later became a Maya the Bee game in Europe. The South Park sprites are even left over in the game files
The big thing that made this game hard was not using the alternate fire for the weapons as much as you should've, the Terrence and Phillip dolls, the dodgeballs, and multiple others would've made the game way easier
This game runs on the same engine as Turok 2, so the controls are pretty much the same. Not only that, but the ladder-climb grunts and swimming noises are the same as well.
This game's final boss was my first rage quit (complete with broken controller). Every time I got it down to a sliver of health it'd fully heal. I was only 13 but glad to know even Thab struggled with this game too.
This game was the first game I rented as a spry 16 year old with his own money. My parents also did not want/consent me playing it so as a result they required me to rent it with my own money and not play it at home. No big deal right. I had to set up a 'new membership' with blockbuster and of course blockbuster required a $50 deposit for 'new members'. The worst part was they didn't give the deposit back until your 10th rental. So I paid $56 dollars to play this game for the weekend at a friend's house. We did end up beating it though. What a nostalgia trip. Thanks for this series.
Your unfamiliarity with the alien at 10:45 is funny because they first appear in the first episode of South Park (actually animated with construction paper). You might have fun watching the early seasons after playing this!
"Chef's Luv Shack", and he says that the comet makes everything and *everyone* behave all freaky... Chef and his many many mistresses aren't immune to it... so I'd let you figure out what he's doing instead of saving the world.
I remember this one, but since I could only rent it back then - and the rental place erased my progress when I returned the cartridge - I never got past the second phase. I’m glad to see how it ends, and now know that I would have never been able to beat it…
Such a tough game 😂 I remember getting this one as a kid and feeling lost all the time. Took it out years later and I realized I probably just needed to be older.
That's so trash of the rental place. I loved getting cartridges with saves super far in so I could mess around and see what the later game was like. Especially since I sucked and couldn't get that far on my own half the time.
@@TheAcridCorpse I'm guessing it wasn't only the guys at the rental place, probably other kids who rented the game also must've messed with the save files... Unfortunate, but I was a kid and didn't mind that much...
This game was so frustrating as a kid. The buggyness of the whole thing, the difficulty especially with limited save functionality, and it even felt cryptic because sometimes you just didn't know where to go or how to get past something. At least it was faithful to the show.
I think the code to unlock everything is Bobbybird if I remember. I was born in 1991 and got this game when it was first released for n64, and it was very difficult. I got to where all the big gay al's replaced the turkeys as the enemies, when I first got this game as a kid. I got the game again when I got older, and the best thing about this game is the versus mode.
Wow that looks super frustrating! I hope this series gets you a million subs. I love it. It's probably my favorite series on youtube, and it looks like it's going to be here a while.
This was my favorite game as a kid I could never beat the final boss though. I remember people complaining about the controls but you can change them in the settings to almost any configuration
So an interesting thing that I think a lot of people miss about this game: Your character selection only maters for about 20 seconds, once you meet the other kids, they become interchangeable. Each kid only holds two weapons, and you switch to the kid holding a given weapon when you switch to it. If you bypass a kid and try to pick up more weapons, the game will say you don't have enough hands.
this was one of my favorate games on the N64 as a kid, when you pick your player if you choose Cartman as you collect the other kids they become playable. each kid has certain weapons tied to them so when you swich weapons you will see the kid that the current weapon is tied to is highlighted in the top left corner.
The controls for this game with the C-buttons to move and stick to aim is the "1.2" controls in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. If you can get used to them, in Goldeneye/Perfect Dark you'll actually move *faster* than with the stick. It's a really strange limitation and not sure how that happened.
I think it has something to do with being able to always move maximum forward and maximum strafe at the same time. Whereas with the standard controls you lose forward speed every time you turn/ look horizontally with the stick. Something like that anyway. I think it is rare to get even an extra full second on level completion time just from 1.2 controls, but speedrunners use even the two-controller schemes on some levels to scrape off fractions of a second too (though for other reasons).
It kinda aggravated me he wasn't utilizing the weapons properly. Every gun has alt fire. The dart gun has a charge up shot. The piranha gun has 3 modes that includes 2 lazers. Which would of really helped out. And the chicken gun is actually a sniper. This game brings back sooooo much nostalgia
I had all 3 south park games when i was a kid. I could not been this one or rally without cheats. Good games, the 3 of them, 2 of them are somewhat hard. Chef luv shack, from what I remember is like trivia from south park and mini games. Fun game. All south park games are really fun in multiplayer, I remember playing lots and lots w my friends. Nice video, man, keep up the good work!!
I bought this game In Box, with manual/good condition just last week for $5.... Thought I'd share. I'll watch the backlog, subscribe and keep up. You are a madlad for doing this challenge, btw.
For what it's worth, I think this was the best N64 video you've put out so far! The game was jank, but the the video was enjoyable and fun to watch. I'm really look forward to watching these every week, thanks man!!!
i'm watching EVERY one of these videos. and i mean all of them. the twist is, the one i watch next is randomly selected so i have no clue what's coming next.
I could never beat the toy boss as a kid. great work. I had a lot of fun with it back in the day but it's not something I'm super nostalgic about.. just an okay game
Yesss!!! Finally! I played the shit out of this game as a kid. It’s so good. I was only allowed to play it because I grew up with a single dad, and we had our little tradition of waking up late at night to watch beavis and butthead and then later on, South Park. Then this game came out and we both played it together. Good times.
I remember renting this once when I was like 10, only did multiplayer. What sticks out most other than the T&P dolls, were the controls. You had your choice between To rock and Brown Eye. Which basically meant Turok controls or Goldeneye controls xD
You can use the d-pad instead of the c-buttons... It's like nobody knows you can hold the controller from the left side. It works best like this for many FPS games.
I’m not sure if you knew this, but every weapon had an alternative firing mode which was usually better than its default and made the game a little bit easier. I think its “up” on the D-pad to cycle through lol
I was blessed to play this game with my friends. They had it and called me over to play multi player with them. I got to borrow it but I only remember playing the turkey levels still fun tho.
You said it well at the end. The game was popular back in the day, mainly for South Park fans. Trey Parker and Matt Stone recorded all that dialogue fresh for the game. That said though, the game doesn't age well. With all the new South Park games being RPGs, I wish they would do another first person type shooter... Since that's my favorite genre. *Sigh* c'est la vie.
I knew about this game but hadn't even seen screenshots or footage of it before watching this video. I knew it was a shooter but I always assumed it was a Doom clone for some reason. I guess because Doom utilizes lots of sprites for enemies and other graphical elements, and that seemed like it would be a good fit for South Park's animation style, it made sense in my head. Never would have expected it to use the Turok engine.
As a kid, one of the most difficult things was figuring out what you need to do in games with little guidance. That's why people who call Navi annoying are either people who played the game as an adult or full of shit. If it weren't for Navi, I'd have been lost in Hyrule Field not knowing where to go. South Park was one of those games that didn't hold your hand and the gameplay suffered because of it.
Yea, a lot of stuff was scrapped and left unfinished and the game suffered for that but still sold well due to the hype of South Park at the time and the age of people watching it aligned perfect with age of N64 owners. Probably the first game I remember some of my friends not being allowed to own due to the foul language in the show.
My parents used to keep this one on their shelf and away from me and my bro. I remember sneaking in and seeing it on the shelf, knowing i couldn't play it even if i took it and put it back after cuz they'd see the dust missing off the cartridge and know lmao. It was there a while
When he said sounds like Jack Nicholson i thought he meant he was describing Jack and that busted me up! Great work I’m working my way through all the N64 videos. I think they’re awesome and your funny dude.
I am watching you beat every N64 game, and I mean all of them, the twist is the next video is randomly selected, so I have no clue what's coming next this is the journey to watching you beat every N64 game.
So I'm sitting here thinking "this game kiiiiiinda reminds me of Turok"and literally 2 seconds later he says in the video "this was made by the creators of Turok" and my mind was blown.
South park deserved so much better then this. The n64 era south park games made Trey and Matt never want to let anyone create a game using their characters ever again. But then the technology got better and they felt like it was time and we finally got good games. You should play the newer south park games. Definitely play the stick of truth.
My brothers and I had so much fun playing this game. It was just downright fun as hell. It was awesome playing split screen multiplayer and spam throwing the farting Terrance and Philip dolls and the frame rate would drop down to like nothing lol. You’d just be lost and moving like 1mph through an infinite fart cloud.
Loved this game as a kid but never actually beat it legit, always ended up cheating. I always for some reason loved beating the final boss by shooting one of the weapons at the wall, one that bounces around. Having infinite ammo makes it a total mess with projectiles going everywhere and the boss just gets absolutely shredded.
Craw and I have been working hard to get more of these videos out. There will be two N64 videos next week and the week after! We will try to have two per week as often as possible, but when it is a longer one like this one, there will only be one.
YESSSS I was going to loudly wish for two per week in my comment but I decided against it since I can't imagine the workload that would be.
YEEEHAAAAA More likes to give. Thank you for your Work.
At your pace man, these videos are so excellent. Really nostalgic and fun!!!
Hey Thab! awesome series, you a have a unique oportunity here to rank the best games for the N64, so it would be cool to create a table with the scores you give at the end of the gameplay, something like Doug Demuro does with cars
Appreciate ya!
If someone fires cow launcher at you in multiplayer your screen goes pink as your head is wedged 'inside' the cow.
the game excels in 4 player N64 multiplayer splitscreen. 17 characters to choose, 20 maps, tons of crazy guns like the Terrance and phillip doll you can fart on and throw and it's an AoE gas bomb. Great game
No, Mr. Hankey is not a candy bar wearing a santa hat. But if you take a snickers bar and put it in a public pool... it kinda looks like what Mr Hankey is.

i mean it is tho. Evidence: Their newer game Fractured But Whole is way better bcuz Matt and Trey were actually involved
If I remember correctly, the devs were given an incredibly short time to finish the game to meet a holiday launch.

Now I'm taking the nostalgia trip as well! Man, content like this is what makes me keep youtube around
Well said lol ☯️
This game runs on the same engine as Turok 2, so the controls are pretty much the same. Not only that, but the ladder-climb grunts and swimming noises are the same as well.
This series is one of the many reasons I look forward to Fridays.
same!
I beat this game as a kid, I don't remember it being this frustrating, I enjoyed the campaign and the multiplayer was a blast.
This game is so hard you needed gamefreaks to help you out or the game shark
@@isaiahgansta nope, I beat it with no guides or assists. Just took a very long time.
This game's final boss was my first rage quit (complete with broken controller). Every time I got it down to a sliver of health it'd fully heal. I was only 13 but glad to know even Thab struggled with this game too.
fffffffffuuuuuuucccck relatable
So true 💯👍
Facts the only way I could beat it was using the bobbybird cheat code it would give unlimited ammo and health I would spam Terrance and Phillip dolls
Multiplayer in this game was amazing, never forget the Cow Launcher
So true it’s a shame when people play games like this that are not familiar with the game or the show 🤷♂️ Lol

Mr. Hanky the Christmas "Chocolate" LMAO...

i got grounded
I don't recommend eating the Mr. Hankey candy bar. Love this series, Thab
Like a Baby Ruth in a public pool. Doodie!
Well it would definitely have peanuts in it.

Bobby bird. Yesss lol I was also born in 91 I owned a copy of thus game. It's great.
My cousin and I used to play this game for hours. Being young is something I really miss and cherish.
Thab giving this game a 8/10 difficulty tells me why I don't remember most of the story line as a child. Never got that far!
It warms my cold heart to see people complaining about Turok platforming in 2021.
I think that's why people were so concerned with Metroid Prime way back when, when they found out it was an FPS.
You know the game is rough when it gets an 8.5 for difficulty from Thabeast himself!
Wow that looks super frustrating! I hope this series gets you a million subs. I love it. It's probably my favorite series on youtube, and it looks like it's going to be here a while.
Preach it!!!!!!
Glad you enjoy it! We put a lot of effort into these episodes
I agree, I came for his mario maker stuff originally and stayed for his awesome Content. I love this series and hope hes continues to grow.

That safe dropping on Kenny isn't the only one crushing it. Good job Thab and Craw!
Split screen multiplayer is where this game excelled.
I love how mellow you are, it adds a ton of dry humor to your videos

I love this game. I was a huge fan of Southpark as a kid. Memories!
Same me also but me and my friends were still self-aware of how difficult this game was 🤷♂️🤣☯️
Hearing the turkeys clucking faintly in the distance gave me nightmares as a kid
I loved this game as a kid. Thanks for the blast from the past! Wasn’t there some kind of “dance ray” or was that just multiplayer?
I like to singa! About the moona and the joona and springa! I like to singa

Multiplayer was the best part of this game... never even tried to get far in campaign cause it confused my tiny brain.

I got to the final boss as a kid but never managed to beat it. Glad to see I didn't miss too much.
