    Hi Bec and Matt, do you have to declare food that is in sealed packaging

    • @BecMattAdventures
      @BecMattAdventures  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Rhonda,
      Great question, No you don't have to declare to come into Australia.
      Over the years we did at start but was told by Customs no not necessary due to being made on a production line and sealed.
      They were only interested in Fresh fruit,meat,fish and raw seeds and nuts.
      And raw timber and shells picked up off the beach , anything processed like timber and shells made into something they weren't interested, they generally asked if bought in shop then they wave us through, times not even wanting to look.
      As to food anything we showed in our video, No issues.
      Hope this helps.
      Thanks for feedback.

    Hi Bec & Matt,
    We are back!!! Thank you for all your fabulous videos. My husband and teenagers love bali as much as I do ❤ we had a fantastic three weeks.
    I took the kids to two bobs, they loved the shoes! Myself and 16 year old daughter got togs made from your tog man, fantastic service and togs perfect fit. I took mine with me as love them but too big and he made two pairs exactly the same but smaller. Mentioned your names to him! Also, got glasses from Hollywood optical, amazing, love them! We went to many of the food places your recommended aswell. We have 1000's of photos to go over and go pro footage. Had the best family holidays ❤️ I'm heading back in January with a friend for a few days then solo for 4 days, any suggestions on solo locations? Was thinking sanur as well be legian for 5 days or so I just stay in the legian/ kuta area. Thanks again. 😊

    • @BecMattAdventures
      @BecMattAdventures  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow Rachelle,
      Awesome to hear and music to our ears people having a positive experience in Bali, Great to hear lalu from Hollywood optical looked after you, Nengeh from Nengeh collection with the Togs, Awesome to hear, i have 3 pairs and quality is still perfect. Two Bobs is easy shopping and quality we found is good. Great to hear on the food, Was there a place you liked the most for food or somewhere we don't know about and we need to know?
      It's great to hear it worked with the family as nothing worse than the pressure to deliver a good holiday.
      That's why we do the videos to give people the confidence going and having knowledge before you land.
      As to where to stay , It's really what you want out of Bali, Sanur is lovely and alot of expats live there and had friends say it's bit too quiet for them, Really upto the individual really, For us mainly stay Legian or Kuta, Both Matt and i agree we prefer Kuta but that's just us. What draws us back to there is the hustle and bustle, But having a good place to stay makes a difference as we say its a oasis in the hustle and bustle.
      Don't be shy to try Sanur as we always say you never will know if don't ever go.
      As to Legian and Kuta some of our places we love are
      Addys Inn Legian - On Garlic Lane (really central if your a shopaholic )
      Yulia Beach Inn in Kuta- Right behind Kuta square (deluxe premier room with balcony)
      Puspa Ayu - South Kuta - Modern rooms and villa options
      Arnaya Homestay South Kuta - next to puspa ayu- 8 hotel room homestay (motel really)
      Green Garden Hotel - South Kuta - This hotel has been our No 1 hotel and we never have told anyone, It never reopen after covid , the owner did a full reno on it, ( It didn't need it, It was sooo good but they have done alot of things to it, about 25 rooms, they put in lifts now and is ready to reopen, the restaurant has just reopen and hotel is opening soon, We plan to go and check it out and see if its better or just as good ) The staff were the best but 4 years since covid the staff would have moved on, so it will be interesting to see and ill report back.
      The owner of Green garden hotel is same owner as Febris hotel - Febris is right near green garden and the lady owns Sulis beach hotel as well , just down the road and is lovely but more of a hotel you want peace and quiet as its in a quiet area of that area.
      Theres planty of hotels apart from these but these are tryed and tested and all about $60 and under a night which fits our budget and we rate all of them.
      First 4 places have videos on our channel , Green garden we will check out. (Talking of hotel reopen Aug/Sept this year)
      All these places are not really kid friendly , like us no kids are a great place to chill out and some are very quiet due to not having many rooms.
      Hope this helps.
      Reach out if we can be of help anytime.

      Thank you for your information. I will definitely go back and check out your accommodation videos again.
      We stayed in Ubud for 4 nights at Sens and loved it, we got connecting rooms so the teens had their area and we had our space. Next we stayed at safari park, again connecting rooms, the girls loved the views from the comfy beds. We then stayed at Hyatt in Sanur for four nights and loved it, we all loved our stay here. Our next location was Legian and stayed at kuta indah villas for 10 nights, I didn't pre warm kids or husband what to expect in kuta/ legian! Opps 😂 our driver, who I have had before, drove them around the streets to work out landmarks and where to find things! I took them all out walking the streets, walking the busy side streets and laneway with scooters zipping past they were all a little shocked that first walk!!! The 14 year old asked to taxi it back, no, this is part of the fun and adventure! Day 3 they were more comfortable, relaxed and enjoy the hustle and bustle as much as I do around the streets!! One way I went off to explore and my husband took the kids, they survived 😂 the girls got their nails done while husband had a leg massage. They loved the shopping, massages, hair creme baths, the food and stopping at every circle K, Indomaret to try the snacks and drinks we don't have here! Our driver and friend is amazing and made our adventures memorable. He organised for us to attend Warung Nia cooking class and market tour, we all loved this experience. When we were returning back to kuta after our long day of venturing he stopped at Warung Bamboo, Canggu, amazing food, so tranquil and near a rice field. Our driver introduced us to the owner, lovely guy who cares about his warung, staff and the quality of service and food. I took our 16 year old to Crumb and Coaster for breakfast one morning and we loved it! Good in Bread we also enjoyed. For my birthday breakfast we went to Republic88, another fabulous breakfast and coffee. The teens loved Krusty Krab, they managed to have it few times!!! My favourite massage place is Body Worship, we all enjoyed our massages and hair baths. Little Beauty Salon, near Mama German, the girls loved for their nails. Two weeks later and the 14 year old nails are still great! Our 16 year old loved the facial, mani and pedicure.
      The kids cried when it came time to say good bye to our driver at the airport. Everyone had tears!!! When the plane took off tears were flowing 😢 I'm so glad they enjoyed their first time in Bali.
      My husband said, yes, your video's definitely helped him with knowing what to expect before arriving!

      Forgot to add, our driver took us to Legian Food court, we all loves our meals there. We went twice to try out a different warung. Very lucky our kids love to try different food! We also went to a silver making class in Kuta not far from the food court. We all loved the experience and made a ring each! Our 16 year old just said to let you know, McDonald's is the same 😂 she works at McDonald's here so had to go, explore and try it to see if, same same or different 😂
      Take care

    Hi Bec and Matt, thanx for the info!! Just wondering do you declare any of the food items coming back to Aus??

    • @BecMattAdventures
      @BecMattAdventures  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question, Coming into Australia we don't declare as nothing is raw or fruit or seeds. At the start we use to tell Border force (customs) we bought groceries and always say anything processed in a factory they are fine and wave us through.
      So no issues , They are more interested in anything Raw meaning untreated timber, fresh fruit,Meat,Fish and nuts and seeds.
      Anything timber if bought in Bali we declare , but never had any issues , they ask did u buy it in a shop if yes then they wave us through, At times never even asked to look at it, They are more interested in untreated like a piece of timber from the beach (driftwood) or shells from the beach.
      Only thing we do if we ever buy is anything cane or woven baskets or bags is bag them up , spray them with bug spray and let them sit overnight in the spray and then next day give them a good shake / tap and see if anything comes out before we leave Bali and then declare that coming into Australia as we found they do check them due to bugs can live in them.
      By spraying and tapping to check no bugs, generally saves any hassles as that's what customs do in Oz, they check by tapping the woven basket or bag on the counter if any bugs come out they then generally take it off you or you have to get it sprayed, by us doing it before hand never had a issue and always been allowed to bring them in.
      Hope this helps

      Hi, For eveyrday - Run of the mill quality either Mels Shop in Kuta - or 100% Genuine fake shop in Legian , For better quality recommend 3 shops Two Bob shoe store in Legian (They sell bags too) , Sabrinas in Garlic Lane or Richa imports on Pantai Kuta.
      Saying that we dont buy higher end as we go to Hong Kong for those as we find the quality is far superior in Hong Kong for us , Even though they say Premium in Bali , We believe overall quality of better end products to be lower in Bali.
      Below our video theres links to other videos that we reference to where we bought them, and all the address are in those videos. All very easy to find.
      Sabrinas store is in our Bali K-Mart video on our channel. Never did a video of Richa imports due to we never bought stuff but the quality of stuff we seen seems ok for premium quality.
