You bought the tickets via TRA website? Since u bought multiple tickets for your passengers, do you download all the tickets and sent to your relevant passengers? How does it work? By QR code?
Hi Cheryl! Yes, i bought multiple tickets for the group. For some in the group, I printed out the tickets using a Kiosk in 7-eleven in Taiwan. If using the app, each individual will need to have the TRA app on their phone to collect their tickets. Once collected, a QR code will be generated and this QR code will allow them to go through the gantry at the train station. I also showed the detailed steps around 04:20 of this video. Let me know if I can help!
@@nomnom_nomads Thank you very much! I understand each passport only allows 6 tickets per day. Do you need to have a TRA account to book the tickets via app or website as I am a foreigner to Taiwan? Is redemption via QR better or print out the physical tickets better? Is booking the train or taking the train from Taipei to Ruifang vs Ruifang to Shifen confusing? To and fro
You're welcome! You don't need to create a TRA account, you can make the purchase using your passport number and credit card On redemption, it really depends on the individual. Can consider printing it out for individuals that are less tech-savvy or for kids. I didn't take to Ruifang from Taipei station but if you're doing that, definitely cater for more time to find the station and platform! Otherwise, one option to consider is hiring a driver for the day to bring you to Shifen, Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark.
