The two girls are currently on the finish line of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and let me tell you, they straight up spend more time analyzing the characters and their motivations than watching the show, and thankfully, they do mostly get it right.
Some probably dont realize this but after Azula shot Aang as he was going to Avatar State which led to him dying and got revived by Katara. He lost the Avatar state there. It was just until Ozai pushed him hard and Aang got his back smashed against the wall that triggered the Avatar state and got it back at that moment.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Zuko was fast enough to react to and intercept lightning after it had been fired? Do you have any idea how fast lightning is? That he could perceive it, realize where it was going, and move fast enough to get in the way is insane. Zuko is a speedster confirmed.
its pretty evident that bent lightning is NOWHERE near as fast as true lightning. Otherwise literally every encounter in the show would be trivialized by anyone capable of redirecting lightning. Like how is an archer or a rock going to ever threaten someone capable of lightning timing LMAO

Unless you're arguing that everyone that isn't instantly speedblitzed by Iroh is also a lightning timer, which means that rocks and arrows and water are also traveling around at 270,000 mph lmao. This is one of those "feats" that people love to throw around without actually devoting a single second to actually think about what it means in the context of the setting.

Alot of people forget how much the firenation struggled to get into ba-sing-se ( with the drill and all) for then uncle iroh to smash it down in one blast with the power of the comet kinda puts a good perspective on how much of a buff he got and how skilled he was at his age.
That was the point. A perfectionist, who had no issue so far, now suddenly is seeing her world crumble, with those closest to her betraying her, giving her a sense of restlessness and doubt, which ultimately hits her in her deepest part, breaking her from within.
They didnt "nerf" her. She was still just as good as a fighter and even more extreme and brutal but not as cunning. The thing with her is that the core pillars of her belief and personality were broken down. She simultaneously lost everything she had in the process of getting everything she wanted and found the chest of treasure at the end was empty. Her hold on her two friends failed when they turned against her, making her question everyones loyalty if her hold of fear on them could fail. After all she did to prove herself to him and all she did for her father, there was no emotional payoff, no real acknowledgement, her father left, basically disregarding her now that she was of no use to him while giving her an empty meaningless title compared to himself, nothing changed, she achieved everything she wanted and she still felt the same. And then there was her supremacy over her brother, yet here he is fighting her toe to toe when she should be handedly defeating him. Worse of all, in the end she is defeated by a water bender when she is supposed to be at the apex of her power and success.
14:52 the absolute fear on Ozai's face 😂, its not just because he cant dodge that fast af lightning and would probably die cause he cant redirect it either, but also because he is about to die to a technique that he saw Zuko only do before, meaning Zuko did taught Aang firebending (like he said he would) and hes about to get his ass wooped😂
At this point, this episode just shows how evenly matched the characters are, even with Sozin's Comet. So, even though Aang is powerful as the Avatar, he still doesn't have the heart to take a life. But that doesn't mean he's not vulnerable, either. Because of Azula, Aang's cut off from his connection to his past lives when he was in the Avatar State.
I always wondered who was stronger between Iroh and Ozai. Personally, i believe Iroh has Ozai beat in pure fire bending from all we've seen, especially with the knowledge he learned from the dragons, but Ozai seems to be better at lightning bending. Wonder who would have won in a straight fight, if it had ever come to that. Then again, Iroh can redirect lightning, so in a fight he probably would have the advantage. In fact, now that i think about it, maybe Iroh created the technique to redirect lightning in case he ever had to face Ozai in a fight. Interesting to think about it like that

Also Iroh admitted he wasnt sure he could beat Ozai, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to be humble for SOMEBODY would have to try and fight Ozai if Aang had failed.
Even though I'm a fan of Iroh, Ozai is very underrated in my opinion. He didn't just become a Fire Lord. So I'll get to the point. I think that Ozai is stronger... but it was in their confrontation that Iroh would win due to the fact that he can redirect lightning. Iroh has better skills and intelligence. And Azai has a physical indicator, firepower, and so on. I'll add a little more. 1) Ozai can fly. 2) As can be seen in this series, his firepower is greater. Iroh concentrated and breathed to create a large fireball with both hands that broke through a large wall. This is great. But Azai, using only one hand, showed more flames and I want to emphasize that Iroh had a single shot and Azai had a non-stop stream of flames. 3) Apparently Azai takes less time to prepare before firing lightning and he can easily shoot it several times in a row.
Ozai was stated to be the powerful firebender by the creators and the main thing about this fight is lightning. Iroh is more skilled but Ozai has insane power and feats
I think Iroh would win just because he can redirect lightning, in terms of pure power Ozai seems to be slightly above Iroh as a firebender though, plus he's younger than Iroh which probably is a factor

I never felt bad for Azula ever she tried to be too much like her father even at a young age they showed flashbacks of her and she was just the same as she is now just more mentally unstable.
