You should make a video like this but for the turf variant and from other brands too, maybe like the best option from each one. Lots of people will appreciate that content as a lot play on turf.
beware of the grip on the 2 more expensive shoes here. The lunar gato 2's originals had horrible indoor court grip, and if those react gatos are anything like those, you will be sliding around in those as well.
Many comments about turf options... Why are turf choices so bad?? Not specifically for Nike, but overall. Can't they just make the top tier boot with a turf outsole? Or make something like the Gato that is specifically for turf? Almost all my games are on artificial turf, and I don't think I'm alone.
Nike had some "Gato for turf" dedicated turf model called Bomba (or Bomba Pro), they also had this "Nike 5" line, with Elastico models, one of the best shoes I have ever had (those are flats though). Currently have Tiempo and Mercurial Pro TF models, I'd say pretty close to top tier boot. But I get you and agree 100% Best tufr boots I have ever seen online are mizuno morelia neo tf, but not available in my part of the world...
Unfortunately, most brands aren't making their elite models for turf anymore. I think Nike's best option for turf is the Nike Premier 3 (K-leather + lunarlon cushioning) and if you live in Europe, I'd give a try for the Munich Mundial TF (k-leather of great quality).
My guess is there's really only 1 subset of playing surface that TF really excels on, and that's the really short-cut, carpet like AG. You're better off with indoor boots for indoor, and while TF works on other AG surfaces as well, it doesn't work as well as AG boots, especially when the surface is a bit wet, or with the newer generations of AG pitches. Not only that, most AG boots can also double as FG boots for people who don't want or can't afford 2 different boots. So all that puts TF boots in an awkward spot, which I suspect impacts sales quite a bit
It seems like some shoe companies prioritize selling expensive boots instead of focusing on reliable and timeless turf shoes. They attach turf shoes to their high-end products that they keep changing their color way and “technology” just to make more money, even though many of us play on turf fields. It would be great if a company specializing in turf shoes emerged to bring more competition and better options to the market. Turf surfaces are becoming more popular due to their low maintenance, so having dedicated turf shoe options would be fantastic.
Nike's Mercurial Zoom Vapor Pro Turf are probably the best turf shoes, and certainly more comfortable than traditional Mercs. However, as others correctly pointed out, turf shoes aren't as effective on newer, plush AG surfaces. Yet, in US it's hard to find boots designed for AG specifically, and Nike's AG plates aren't the best (just few conical studs and usually a bit longer than needed for AG surface)
Guys, if you want good futsal shoes get Joma topflex rebound or Joma regate rebound. Also munich continental is a good shoes. Nike shoes do not have good traction and the durability of the outsole get flat really fast
After seeing josh's last review, I think sr4u has a secret contract with adidas in which he has to promote the newest adidas boots in exchange for adidas to name the copas after his brand
Maybe the lunargatos are slightly different in the heel, because my original pair have the worst heel lockdown I've ever experienced. My laceless boots have better lockdown. Which is a bummer because the rest of the boot is truly incredible.
@@FruitschannelMagnumIlirikum it's not really a "big fat outsole"... It's a rubber outsole and an EVA (or whatever they use for cushion) midsole. The rubber outsole will probably wear down in 3-4 months if you play (almost) daily like me.
Do you think the street gato would do well in an indoor turf field? Old school turf without the beads! The street gatos have little nubs on the outsole, gives me the impression they’ll work well?
I belive this is just a personal preference. I used the have the lunargato, witch have almost no grip and I used them on indor turf just fine. But this is my preference, i dont like to use AG on this tipe of playing field because i make a lot of hard stops and i tend to roll my ankle with ag type boots
Hello. please, can you recommend which boots would be good for me ? I have wide feet, the measurement is 29.7 cm long and 11.1 cm wide (at the widest part of the foot). Thank you !
I am not a soccer player nor am I a big fan. I love Kobe Bryant shoes and since his shoe design was based off of a football/soccer shoe buy an indoor soccer shoe is the closest to wearing Kobe shoes. (Kobe's shoe are virtually impossible to get now).
Are these good for indoor turf as well? I feel like these are more premium than what’s on offer from the “turf” shoes. If anyone can respond it would be much appreciated
Great indoor boots: Joma top flex, Munich continental, Nike Lunar gato. Most of the pros are using those 3 models. The indoor market is looking sad right now if I'm being honest. There is no new stuff everything is still the same.
i orderd the react gato in same size and 1 size up. The shoes are way to tight for me. I dont even have wide feet ... had to send them back. so keep in mind these will not fit everybody
What the sizing in the adidas speedportal.1. In normal trainers I am a size 7 but the mercurials I'm wearing currently are a size 8 so what size would you recommend I should get? 8 or 8.5? Any input would help. I'm using UK sizing btw
Just go by his reviews of fit. If you find enough of his videos and you have a pair he has reviewed it should be enough. That’s what I did and found the perfect size
Thank you for this review! What would be the best shoes in terms of traction on dusty indoor courts? We usually play the last session of the day and the court is beyond slippery. I recently purchased the sambas and they were uncomfortable due to the arch support in the insole wich I removed after 2 times... Sambas have unbelivable traction but the outsole tore up the 3rd time and now I'm wondering what would be the best option. I previously had tiempo lunar legend which I prefered in every aspect except they were really slippery. Help anyone?? Thank you!
Hi Josh Great video I Just bought my lunar gato in my usual regular size shoe and i feel them really snug in my toes, i would like to know your thoughts ... if going 1 size up would be too much or would you recommend me maybe try half size up first
They look almost like Samba... Except for the outsole (and logo obviously)... Jugué con mis Samba por un rato y creo que tendré que reemplazar las suelas, no aguantaron mis pasos. 😅
@@KH-ow7hc Thanks! I have heard great things about joma, just the shoes and color ways are unbearable. Are they good for high arches? My arch is abnormally high.
I bought the Street Gato they're awful. Absolutely terrible fitting trainer. The heel sticks out at the back so they feel really chunky, the sole material is extremely stiff and thick (they feel like actual shoes) so when lift your foot laterally it basically flips sharply meaning that if you lean too much to one side so you could easily turn/sprain your ankle. They also feel 'pointy' almost Sunday-Shoe-esque. Shockingly bad, even for the street. Ultimately, Nike Street Gato fail at both jobs (indoor and street), which is a shame because I love the colour-scheme, I'm just wearing mine around the house and even then I'm not wearing them often because they're just not very comfortable. Avoid!
..also, the new Gato React (as seen in this video - black and pink) differ slightly from the older colour schemed versions, but only slightly. I have both pairs (the grey and reddish orange and the above, black and pink, versions) and regarding fit I would say the older versions are slightly softer and sock-like, the newer ones feel stiffer which means they dont fit as snug or allow you to twist, turn and touch the ball with as much control - but as I said it is only a small difference but it's definitely there. So, if you want my advice get the older versions of Gato React if you want what I consider to be one of the best indoor trainers ever created. They're definitely up there with a well broken in pair of Adidas Samba. Love them.

For wide foot is easy - Adidas Copa Mundial Turf; Nike Tiempo TF... the problem with 99% of turf boots is that they are to bulky somehow...
