The old format cards are nice, and are definitely the highlight of the set. The larger art windows really make a difference. They'd make cool proxy's too.
I think its pretty nice seeing the old style again, OCG cards have always looked so clean
Important note: the Card Frame for these cards are not "anime style" (unless you watched the Japanese broadcast, I suppose) but simply the Series 1 layout. The packs contain a mix of Series 1 and Series 11/12 (the current) card frames. It is a modified Series 1 Layout, since original Series 1 cards did not have the Eye of Anubis stamp.
Imagine Ruxin became the new pro player for Yu-Gi-Oh! He gets the cards, all we need is for him to top consistently; it might take time but we would be standing there while he plays feature matches and finals.
It’s cool that Konami is reprinting old products. Super nostalgiac.
Seeing these OCG cards makes me wish I knew how to read in Japanese and Korean.
Korean packs are still consider OCG cards, but can only be considered official within Korea

That's a really cool set. These cards looks so strange, not just because the smaller text box, because the uncensored artwork too. It would be amazing if konami bring back that style for normal monsters.
Those reprints look sick, I especially love the old borders for the product due to the nostalgia factor.

So you didn't do research what the pack actually contains... It is a combination of the original Premium Pack and the Tokyo Dome prize cards from 1999. The old layout cards are exact reprints of these cards (except for copyright and eye of anubis). Firewing Pegasus was 6 in the world, Meteor B. Dragon 4 in the world and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon was 2 in the world. So you're holding some of the most historic and originally rarest cards and don't even know it.

i love that goddess of whim! her and fairy's gift were my first two yugioh cards ever pulled them both from mcdonalds pack one back when the promotion ran in 2002 at 11 years old i still have fairy's gift but lost my goddess of whim but i got a play set of her and two more fairy's gifts from the original release to add to my collection

Huh, so this... we could compare it with the 25th classic sets reprints for our TCG, right? I guess some japanese guys might have been mad, but a lot would be really happy hahah! I really like idea, and the original layout looks GORGEOUS. I'm really happy to see these kinda random, but beautiful foils and quality. I hope to see more of them!

I really like the reprints! I wish they would've stopped making level 4 monster with an ATT over 1500. A lot of level 5 monster would've been used back in the days

U can play those cards, provided u have a decent strategy that involves/revolves around these cards... BEUD old style secret rare is just for flex for the most part (I think)

I remember Premium Pack 3 having some really nice pack art, but it was ridiculously expensive if you didn't get it when it came out, as some of the later one's had alternate art versions of some fan favourites, which is think some of them came out over here in the mega tins.

The original layout does look awesome for the normal monsters. I can't imagine that layout for modern effect monsters 😂

These premium packs are so nice aesthetically.
You know I almost wish a lot of the very simple affect monsters at all in all the monsters were in the old school style of frame. I mean you don't need that much texts for some things and it would look pretty cool even in english. Other text would be super small I don't think you would really need it and you could probably adjust some of the locations to make it look closer to it

The premium pack 6 you opened at 11:31 is an exact pack, card for card pack i opened back in the early 2000’s from a flee market in NJ as a kid. I think there was only one card difference because i pulled the promo DM girl and arkana DM :)) (unless i got those two from a different premium pack the same day)

Og ocg 1999 cards are so fun to collect, i have few of those from 1999 and even tho some are damaged but not horrible, cardboard on back is still glossy, i really like that i have quality cards, nostalgia hits even harder with 25th anniversary ocg packs. Hope there will be some of packs in europe.

When they did the artwork on the american version of harpy lady and harpy lady sisters they had to remover the nipple spikes that were in the japanese artwork but there does exist one run of harpy lady sisters in america that does still have them

I really don‘t get why in the OCG Konami actually uses the old OCG layout for these reprints, but they refused to do that for our TCG 25th Anniversary Reprints! Why, Konami, why?! We wanted the old layout!
