My favorite way is to base coat with Death World Forest, highlight with Ogryn Camo and then darken the recesses with Athonian Camoshade.
Sounds great!
I do the same but I use elysian green too. And I start with Castellan green if I'm painting black orcs. Those 5 colours look so good together!
How do you highlight? dry brushing?
THANKS! That pale green is exactly what I've been looking for since I first saw Grots that colour in Gloomspite Gitz Battletomes!
love these old sculpts!
Available again soon
Cool video! I use Warboss Green as a base coat, shade heavily with Biel Tan Green, then highlight with Skarsnik Green. It makes for a nice, healthy emerald green color.
Contrast paints are bloody clever. Looking back at early 90s Golden Daemon winners, you can really appreciate how far things have come, both in the tools and paints we have and the innovations made in skills and techniques.
i liked the first style, looks good and fast to put on.
just done 97 nids and so fast paint jobs are my go to for a bit
Never too many orc skin recipes
I'm green (waaagh Ba dee)
Just a sec, just looking for the ban button.
@@officialwarhammer 😭 I deserve it
Oi lissen up 'eres da story
Thanks for sharing these useful variations. 🎨🖌
No worries! Glad you're finding them useful.
One of my favorite methods for painting green skins takes longer- but its like 2::1 Skarsnick Green mixed with Averland Sunset as a base. Makes a very nice yellow green!
Excellent video! Adam does a great job, as always. Thank you :)
very quick and easy especially for batch painting is to base white, wash with Earthshade, let it dry and then wash with Biel Tan Green. Job done and no need for highlights. Other greens can be used for a bit of variation.
I always undercoat white, and paint my ork skin with three paints- imperial fist contrast, followed by Biel tan green shade. Layering them on top of each other makes an interesting effect. Then I highlight it with Orruk flesh
I usually base with skarsnik green, wash with biel-tan green, and highlight with a mix of skarsnik green and kislev flesh, but I'll be trying the phalanx yellow drybrush next time!

I want my WAAAGH! warboss to be unkillable!
a very simple way, it is black primer coat, warboss green base coat, biel tan greenshade and warboss green dry brush again
This weekend is going to cripple my finances, and I’m fine with it.
So this is the 'intermediate' level. Will there be a video to help how they did the skintones in today's WarCom article?
Im going to be painting these be a part of Groms clan. The red and blue colour scheme looks almost like they are imitating bretonnia.
Great video!
Thinking about the dark tone (black orcs' skin), could be useful to do another layer of caliban green after the nuln oil and before the layer of warboss green?
Can this also be applied to the 40k Orks?
Just say you painted them purple. You then have an excuse to show up to a tournament with no army. Theyre just invisible
I can paint my orcs in different formations.
1) Undercoat white or drybrush an undercoat of white on your flesh areas
2) Use Plague Bearer flesh contrast over the flesh areas
3) Wash all the flesh areas with Biel Tan green.
I'd like to get those Fantasy Orcs and convert them into 40k Orks
What I need is a tribe of primitive orks in full armor Iron and beat each other to win a big attack from that tyrant, not these ordinary orks orks are perfect species they were born to do that they have already fought with that necron 😭😭😢
