- Part 2: ZEEKR Australian Media China Tour on Day 2 🗓️ 18 June 2024 | After breakfast at the Pudong Shangri-La, we visited the ZEEKR Design Studio in Shanghai which was then followed by an incredible feast for lunch. We then transferred by bus to the ZEEKR Intelligent Factory in Ningbo before settling for the night at the nearby Hyatt Regency | Vlog by Tesla Tom of Ludicrous Feed June 2024

ABOUT LUDICROUS FEED
Ludicrous Feed is a Sydney-based TH-cam channel that started in 2018 after Tom purchased his Tesla Model S. He wanted to show the reality of Australian daily life with his family and an electric vehicle. Barely 15 years ago you can hardly see the sky in Shanghai. Now it looks crystal clear, in no small ways thanks to EVs. The world should switch to EVs ASAP. No tariffs please. Cheaper the better and the faster the adoption the better.

Yes around 15 to 20 years ago, it was said that on the really bad days if you hold out your hand, you could see the pollution obscure your hand. Going to electric vehicles and bikes is partially to do with it. A lot have been due to the massive electrification and keeping electricity prices down especially for the poorer regional areas. When I was in rural China in Dec 2023, it was amazing to see modern electric and gas for domestic water and heating when less than 10 years ago it was almost 100% wood and coal.
This is the China , the developing country which is still collapsing since 3 decades ago

Air wasn’t any worse than when Sydney is of a similar humidity tbh
Recently went to China for holiday, the air quality was so much better now compared to 10 yrs ago.

Proof beyond any doubt that EV's reduce that traffic noise that is so prevalent in any city big or small and probably smelled far better as well with as you say 50% or so EV's driving around. In Australia though until all the Commodores and Falcons are burnt out or smashed up beyond repair we'll still have the hoons with their large exhaust pipes making as much noise as they can, imagine if they were in China the police would confiscate their vehicles and crush them then fine them severely. Wanted to ask why those apartment buildings had no one living in them yet, seems a waste to build them if no one is living there. Some of the cars you saw were amazing, so looking forward to Wed night when you and Riz can talk about it freely and have audience participation once more. :)
I would have been skeptical of the 50% claim had I not seen it with my own eyes!
Its a new development, it takes time to sell. The difference between China and Australia or other land rich nations is that instead of building a new single family home suburban neighbourhood, china builds in apartment suburbs, hence everytime a housing development finishes it adds huge inventory to the market, betting that it will be filled due to demand. (sometimes the oposite happens and there is no demand, which is frankly terrible and the chinese government should ban development where there is no demand)

I drive a Geely in my country, loving it! They launched the Lynk n Co this year but wasnt able to see it during the annual auto show here. Hopefully next year!

It is good PR by Zeekr and for all intents and purposes it is good to have people there in person to see what is happening in the industry and the Chinese economy in general. I live in South East Asia and I have worked in China a decade ago. It has developed beyond recognition since then. It is sad that politics in the West has turned against China. There is so much we can benefit from working and cooperating with them. Forget all the communist bs. In reality people there are more capitalist than you and I and they enjoy such a high standard of living. Don't believe anyone but go and see for yourself. It is very safe travelling there and things are so cheap. People there are friendly and China has changed a lot culturally. People are civic minded. It feels like Japan in the bigger cities.
