- Ian Royle takes a look at a second-hand example of a Rover 600, seeing how practical and spacious it is, as well as testing it's performance and handling. Ian is testing the 618 model which has a nippy, but no overly impressive, 115bhp engine and is showing it's age in the style department.
620ti ....now that is a beast! 😈
0 to 60 in 7 seconds....classic 😀👌
My first car was a Rover 600 and by no means it was boring.
They were/ are a decent car especially the 620T
still own a 620ti
Always a good thing to have a rear parcel shelf for your box of tissues.
Especially when you go dogging…..
Rear parcel shelf suitable for a couple of cushions and a box of tissues! He forgot to mention the tartan blanket!
My CDTI 75 Club is a seriously excellent car. Quite the best, style, comfort, and class.
Safe?

Rover 75 is my choice.
Did he just describe Rover's as reliable?
Très fiable
To be fair, it's just a Honda with some changed body molding. If you've seen the dash, it's basically ripped from the Accord/Innova.
600s were reliable
All Rovers are worth about £60 now. He is brave taking that out in the rain concidering how they rust.

90’s Rovers might have had a stuffy reputation but they were not known for rust unlike Mercedes at the time. They were mostly Honda based cars and used Honda engines, except the woeful k-series which was prone to head gasket failure, apart from that they were pretty solid cars.
@@billybellend1155 Yep, my old BMW was very bad in the arches, and I can't say I've really seen a rusty Rover from the same era. It wasn't that reliable either.
rover safe 😂😂 are You for real
The 600 is a typical early 90s car, but the 75 actually performed exceptionally well for the time. Still relatively good from a crash perspective.
@@kaptinkeiff The 75 had a highly praised 4* NCAP safety rating, rising to 5* if it had the optional side curtain airbags.
