I remember doing recorder in elementary school. My school set it up as a sort of martial arts scenario, where the kids earned "belts" for each song they completed. The belts were just colored strings you tied to the end of your recorder. We were given a packet of songs to learn to play, each one progressively more difficult than the last. You had to complete one song and earn that belt before you could move on to the next. We would go in the morning to the music room before classes started to play for our music teacher to earn whatever belt we were trying to earn. I only got to the third belt, not because it was hard, but because I was lazy and didn't go in the morning. Good times.

Thank god my mom never forced me outside for a hobby. She knew I had a super ultra mega phobia of bees 🐝 and wasps that kept me inside during summer. But she would try to get me to make friends so I wouldn’t be by myself so I’m glad to know that she genuinely cared about my social life. So in order to please my mom I just took up a hobby that eventually became my life long interest. DRAWING ✍️
When i was 6 I was already in swimming, ballot, dance and tap dancing all at the same time At 7 I was in swimming, dance, a place to learn how to play music, and dance, and soccer(which I actually liked but then my mom stopped taking me) 8 is swimming, and soccer But then I dropped out of all of them bc of *Cod vid* I'm looking to start swimming again though and soccer
The one activity I remember is being taken to judo and having everyone sit down and watch a kid who knew judo just grab a full grown adults arm and flip him over his shoulder, honestly thought that kid had superpowers.
Growing up, my hobbies were drawing and playing video games. I didn’t get my first game system until middle school, so I had to visit friends and cousins who had game systems if I wanted to play video games. Though, I preferred to go outside and hangout with friends over sitting in the house all day. I was forced into peewee football as a kid, and hated it lol; but oddly enough I loved playing street football. Nowadays, I don’t draw as much as I used to, as it was just something to pass the time when I didn’t have my own system to play on, or friends to play outside with; and due to “adulting” (ugh), it’s become a bit difficult to link up with friends and do stuff outdoors. Video games seem to be the only thing that stuck with me over the years 😂. Wish I could’ve tried other things as a kid, but money and reliable transportation was an issue.
Honestly my school forced me to take band as well and honestly I love playing the tuba Ever since I graduated from high school I haven't played the tuba. But now I build model kits because I got a job, made money to buy kits and and engage in a passion I've had since 2013 Thank you QDC. You've motivated me to have a hobby that doesn't involve me sitting for 24 hours playing with digital things on a video game

Whenever I go and spend the night at my friend's house their mom and dad kick us out the house when it's like 70° outside and make us go play with my parents every time I ask to go outside and they say no
I wanted to do street dancing but when I went to the class they would teach us BALLET and on the second lesson the teacher went "welcome back to ballet!"
I was also in percussion for all of my school years but unlike most high schools mine had a completely separate class for percussion so we had to actually learn the dozens and dozens of different instruments that percussionist have to play, including many different drums from Africa and India! It was pretty awesome and we got Second place in Nationals 3 years in a row! (There was always this one school that always got a couple points higher than us in the final judging...) but it was still cool!
All the kids in my neighborhood, we’re all related so we would always meet up at one of our cousins house and we would play hide n seek throughout the whole neighborhood but no one could go in their houses and there were like 15 of us so we had to have partners.
