I also think something not mentions is sound. Smell was mentioned but I think sound is also a good way to connect with the air element. Because sound travels through the air. So music, sound/singing bowls, etc... I find good to connect with the air element as well.
Agreed! Communication is connected to the Air element and one of the ways to do that is through sound. I'll often use singing bowls and bells or simply listen to the wind.

I use my voice to represent air - speaking out loud my intentions, my wishes, etc. is VERY important to my practice. I have a few spells/sigils that are recharged by song/chant.

Yes, agreed. I would use Mercury for air as it is the ruling planet of Gemini. I use Sanskrit chants and I associate Saraswati for this. Lunar Pumpkin by name and nature - I manifest dreams into reality using the divine timing of the lunar cycle and support my clients to do the same in their readings or via Affirmations. Affirmations spoken aloud are other ways to incorporate air, as are singing, reciting poetry or spells if you're witchy. I am not personally, but I do work with elements and crystals. This is an interesting video. Thank you.
I sometimes use blowing bubbles to represent the air element. You use your breath to create them and then they float through the air. Also their translucency and rainbow shimmer makes it fit perectly.
Thank you, Hearth. I use blue for air and grey for water. After 12 years in the Royal Navy, I can say most of the water on the planet is a grey colour because of its depth and lack of reflections from the seabed. Much love.
I have some things to add to this as well! You can also sing to work with the air element. Sound is carried through the air and is associated with the throat chakra which is air elemented. So by singing you not only strengthen your connection with air but you also help work with that throat chakra energy; which boosts your ability to communicate and speak your truth. Sound is just as effective with working with the air element as smell is. Sing your wishes into the universe like your inner winds, from the bottom of your lungs. Manifest them that way.
Along with that Dance is also air elemented! If you like to dance you can invoke the elements too as you move your body through the air. The water style dancing is flowy and graceful, often involves hip movements like belly dancing. There is earth elemented dancing where you stomp you feet on the ground. Fire dancing that tends to be more lustful or like the actual fire dancing where you light something on fire and throw it around you. Though the act of dance in its entirety is of the air element.
Another thing you almost mentioned was that you can also blow on objects to cleans their energy, I do this often. You do not always need to buy sage or salts to cleans an item, your breath can carry the bad juju away. Blessed Be.

So, I work with a lot of dogs, and we do day long daycare with outdoor play groups. When I'm out in the yard with like, 30+ dogs and things get hectic, I quite commonly will sort of visualize negative energies being cleansed by the winds, and inhale deeply, taking in the positive energy of the wind, and really trying to let myself feel the calming and soothing emotions of it, before exhaling and imagining that energy covering the yard. Almost always calms them all down and gets them chilled out.
In ancient Egyptian magick we have a Goddess Bastet who is the goddess of perfumery and oils she is represented by cats because cats has a strong sense of smell. Her magick is also the use of the air element, crafting perfumes is working with the air element. Another wonderful perfumery craft is using pheromones, body fluids are a great air and water elementary magick. Body aromas are one of the most ignored but very powerful forms of magick. When I was sleeping one time I was opened up to Bastet’s magick and considering my love for cats it all made so much sense.

I would gladly share with you my storm correspondences. I define myself as a storm witch mostly connected to the air (and electricity) element than the water one altough both are a part of it. I'm currently setting up my storm altar. I'm happy to find other practitioners that also relate to storm energy here.

For me personally breath is all of them. It encompasses all five points, the physical act of breathing is earth, the warmth is fire, the moisture is water, the movement you feel in the air is, well air and the fact that it is the first and last tangible thing our bodies do when we are born and when we die I consider that spirit. It’s just how I think of it because it literally encompasses so much in regard to every living creature.
Some spiders "fly" by producing a long strand of silk which gives a large surface area by length. Enough to carry the spider extremely high and over very long distances.
Yes, exactly. And some spiders run and jump high up in the air when hunting instead of making nets. :)

Yes yes....I'm Aquarius and I am SOOOO attuned to the Air Element. I LOVE anything associated with wind, and smells particularly. I use oil and incense alot in almost all my magick. Blessing to you Hearth. 🥰

I'm surprised people don't use the air element more. Any time I had to call on an energy to bring about change or major cleansing I feel like air and water (in the case of cleansing) always respond the strongest. It's definitely an independent element (it answers on its own time), and it lacks its own color cause it has them all, but if you give it something genuine/personal it responds in kind (at least in my experience). It's my favorite element.
Loved this video, you covered pretty much everything possible! I myself am an air witch, specially when it comes to storm energy. It's nice to remeber that the air is also associated with electricity. I discovered in time that working my respiration also helped a lot to work with this element, alongside with inceses and aromatherapy.

It’s an amazing element for communication and that gets overlooked so much! Great for workings to communicate better, help with difficult conversations, to cleanse a space after an argument, things like that. So glad you spoke on how incredibly underrated and used this element is and I hope others find it’s usefulness more through this! 💛✨
Breathwork is another great air magick too, great for raising energy if you do more rapid types like Wim Hof too,with slower types if you’re overly energised. Air magick is my thing. I am a total adhd Gemini airhead and I spent a bunch of time worrying about how to balance all my other elements, and obviously that’s important but it actually took really diving into air magick and airy qualities and celebrating them in myself before I was able to bring them into more balance. But for air magick, I put on music (music is very airy) and then dance, while focusing on my hands like people do for energy sensing, and just pulling air energy out of the space around me. The fact that air is all around us is a plus to me, you just have to focus on the feeling of your own skin, which is always surrounded by air. I find it to be the most abundant and easy element. If I get really into it I imagine I’m dancing with sylphs or other airy beings.
Also, this may sound stupid, but if you struggle to connect to air…turn on a fan! Then you’ve got air blowing on your skin that you can focus on the sensation of, makes it more tangible.

as kid i always talked to the wind, i asked him for things and gave thanks to it for almost everything. since i'm to witchcraft i took this behaviour up again, because for me it is a really nice relationship :)

I was actually guided to work more with the air element recently by my tarot cards! I’ve been going through a sort of rut where I don’t feel like I’m fulfilled or improving in any aspect of my life, and when I asked my tarot deck, it gave the ace of swords, and then multiple sword cards kept jumping from my hand while I was trying to reshuffle it lol. I figured this would be a good first video to start me off :)
Lol I was reading through my notes and yes sound is a very powerful way to use air magic for healing to send emotion and also curses once you leave a area of protection an air curse will attach it self to you -

I've heard that it is best if you practice at the same time as well, because we learn the best and the most through practice. It is nice to have all the knowledge, but if you don't delve into the practical side of the subject (or any subject, on that matter), then you will not learn what works and what doesn't work for you, except with very much difficulty, and that just stalls your path.
I love the air element. I love to walk in the evenings and breathe in the air. I find the smell of the air brings back so many different memories.
As a new witch on my path I would love to see a video about "Types Of Spells", with explanations why and when etc......

Smell is a big one! More aspects I connect with the air element would be breathwork (there are many different breathing techniques that helps us connect with our mind and body differently especially within singing and yoga - alternative nostril breathing, Nadi Shodhana is a good one). More are singing, whispering, moving, dancing, watching the dancing smoke of incense/smoking, laughing, sound and frequency in general, music (!). Dancing/playing with flow toys/fans/silks and juggling are also super cool ways that you could incorporate into your magickal workings and are great to get you into a trans/flow state of mind. And I'm sure there are plenty I haven't even thought of! all the love x

Im a leo but im very drawn the air element. The wrote down everything that i am drawn to in life and its all been related to air. And i feel the most charged when im dancing with my light whip or dancing with my hand fan, or with smoke or when im singing. And in my personal practice ive been using air as a main source because what feeds fire? Air!
I think the universe wants me to work with air: i have some form of parosmia (i smell things wrong) since i caught covid over a year ago, i've been incredibly drawn to pastel powdered yellows and calm soft blues, i'm obsessed with fragrances lately (i actually tumbled onto this video as i was looking for "smoke divination" because i wanted to add incense into my practice), the person i look up to the most is gemini, i've been really vibing with the precise shade of sky i have where i live (i even try to take pictures of it but it always turns out flat and a bit too dark) and i'm at a point in my life where i try to assert myself and to learn how to communicate effectively (i love learning languages, i do some theatre and i want to become some type of storyteller even though i m not great with words as of yet)
Funnily enough the smells i gravitate towards rn are citruses, pine and white flowers (mainly camomille)

I use essential oils to diffuse into the air, smoke cleansing, sound is excellent to use too! Magick in the mundane when I blast my music turn the fans on and air out my home. I love being a Libra and using the Air in my workings. I use sound to charge my ingredients by placing them in a bowl on top my bluetooth speaker! :) Thank you so much for making this video!!
Since I was 11 I started playing with the wind. Idk how. It felt normal. I could move the air.

For me, silver and bronze are connected with the air element, with silver also connected to the water element.
Air is going to be my main element, followed closely by water. But a lot of my practice will include earth element practices and some fire.
I use sage and incense for clearing energy. I utilize my breath sometimes before readings and most times with candle magic. Also on windy days I utilize the wind to visualizing the wind clearing all negativity from my energy due working in a highly stressful environment .

I use the air for the moment for meditation. I will go to the forest, find a spot to sit down and close my eyes. Then, I listen to the sound of the wind in the branches and leaves, the smell of the forest, the feeling of the breeze on my skin. Of course, this is also connected to the earth element, as I feel grounded during it. It helps me find a good balance and is truly relaxing.

This has been eye opening. I've been unknowingly drawn to Air Element items all along. As a Double Libra with a Leo Moon, it makes sense that I'm mostly drawn to things like:
storms, various tornado+other elements (water spouts, fire-nadoes, etc.), sandstorms; incense, especially resin, lavender, and/or citrus based varieties; bronze, an alloy of copper and tin; and anything with wings; and anything quartz silicate-based crystals.
I've also worked with spirit energies, but only when they approached me (I never ask them for anything as they've already "gone into retirement", so to speak). I'm a Raven in Native American astrology, an Ivy/Butterfly in the Ogham, and natural-born free bird. There's nothing more energizing and invigorating to me then being battered around by air - invisible and unassuming, but MIGHTY and the source of life.
Oh, and baby spiders parachute from their mother's web once they hatch - think of the end of Charlotte Web, when all the spiderlings glide away like a dandelion blow ball in a gust of wind. Hence why they're associated to the Air Element.

Being a elemental witch, I found this video so true, but what I liked the most is there are a few things I already do more to ground or clear my head, my favorite place to meditate is outside on a windy day. One of the best feelings, though it may only be momentarily when the right wind hits you breath in, and then it's like my subconscious takes over in what was just a walk turns into you stopping and notice that your breathing has switched to more of a meditative state and by the time your exhaling your now or rather I now will notice I'm focusing on energy which of course triggers intent and I make sure to reiterate my intent constantly throughout the day. This being just one way. As always great info thankyou, looking forward to more.

Breathe work and meditation are ways i connect with the air element and i made a feather fan to move smoke to honor air .im a february aquarius and im deeply fond of water the most. intuition and emotional movements in my magick are to me a hybrid of air and water so is singing

Some spiders tend to travel on wind, using their web fibers and relatively small size and light weight so they travel almost like a flower pollen 😍 Maybe that's why they are associated with air? ❤

Actually, some spiders do kind of travel by flying. They make a web parachute-type thing and go wherever the wind takes them.
As a yogi I love oojai breath (ocean breath). Alternate nostril breathing is lovely to reset the nervous system and for focus. It brings us from the stress - fight, flight, freeze response (sympathetic nervous system) into the rest and digest state (parasympathetic nervous system).
Breath is also an air energy.. so breathing is a good one as well

As someone with Uranus as their dominant planet, I love banging together pots, yelling and air purifiers to cleanse. I also love to work with divination.
My rising, sun, and moon are the 3 air signs, I’ve always hella resonated with the air nomads from avatar and how they live, and even before I realized it was a running motif for me, I would look up into the sky and focus on the breeze for comfort / motivation when I was feeling down. In plane rides I always get euphoria when we break through the clouds and there’s nothing but the sky, and the element of air represents who I am in the sense that it’s free and changing, but can still be sharp when it needs to be. TLDR I FUCKING VIBE WITH AIR and it’s so awesome that I finally found a witch talking about the element lmao!

OMG! I have been working with the air element and I didn’t even know it! Totem animals for me are spiders, bees, butterflies and yesterday moth. I work with incense and I use fans to move energy. I also work angels. So much!
This is helping alot before i was just using medatations
I actually utilize the element of air within my craft quite a lot. Particularly with creative work, since I am both an artist and a writer. The element of air is connected with creative energies, so I include it in creativity spells and as well as my workspace.
I personally work with the air element as it goes well with my personality. Although i am a fire star sign the air element really captivates me.
