*** Highlights of Kifune Jinjya Shrine +++
●This is the headquarters of Kifune Jinjya Shrine, which is said to have more than 2,000 shrines nationwide.
●The main deity is Takaokaminokami
●He is the god of water.
●It began when Tamayorihimenomikoto rode a yellow boat up the river, arrived at Kifune, and enshrined god of water.
●There is a dragon'hole under the inner shrine.
●It is Kyoto's number one power spot.
●The fortune at the main shrine ia a water fortune.
●The birthplace of votive pictures.
●There is a stature of a black horse and a white horse.
●In the past, black horses were offered during droughts, and white horses were offered during long rains.
●That's how it ended up being a votive picture instead of a horse.
●The deity of Yuinoyashiro is the deity of Princess Iwamagahimenomokoto.
●Princess Iwamagahimenomokoto is the god of matchmaking.
●It is famous for the poet Izumi Shikibu who visited the shrine and was able to reunite with her husband.
●It is also the birthplace of the 2am Pilgrimage.
●Although there are some people, it seems that customs such as sriving nails into straw dolls and cursing them, or writing negative thimgs about votive
picture,still exist.
