  • Okay - we've decided that we want to do a new project that divides up the college football world geographically. But how do we do it?
What do you think? Should we divide things north-south or east-west?
Action! PC Football is an extremely realistic American football simulator for Windows made by Dave Koch Sports. You can learn more on the game's website: www.dksports.c...
Let’s Replay videos differ from Let’s Play videos in focus. Let’s Play videos tend to focus on completing a given game. Let’s Replay videos, on the other hand, focus on replaying an entire football season in its entirety, in part to replicate (or improve on) what originally took place, and in part to learn more about historical teams, strategies, and players.
Let’s Replay videos tend to use statistically accurate simulators, including Action! PC Football, Pro Strategy Football, Second and Ten, Strat-O-Matic, APBA, 4th Street Sports Football, and a number of others. Unlike the Madden series, these games focus on realistic representations of the sport, and do not focus on arcade gameplay or on game-breaking exploits. While arcade games are fun, statistically accurate simulators provide a much more satisfying and long-lasting experience.
The graphics might not be great, but the gameplay is incredible, and the story behind each game is quite exciting. Come join the fun!

1st, Separate football from all the other sports. 2nd, Make a second sub-division for the top 60 programs where the schools can directly pay the players. 3rd, use the last 3 years of the current system to rank them and place them into 5 skill level based conferences of 12 teams. Each team plays 11 regular season games, for a post season the bottom two teams play the top two from the division bellow their current one. The top two teams in the top division play for the national championship. Combine that with an in season single elimination tournament for all 60 teams together. Super soccer inspired. This system has 0 wasted weeks playing way weaker opponents.

I really like this idea for real life. Not sure I'm going to go to that much trouble for a sim, though, lol. This is very well thought out!

Thanks to Yale's 23-18 defeat of Harvard in The Game, the 2023 Ivy title was split between Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth. There is some controversy about this, because although each team finished at 5-2 in the Ivy, Dartmouth's two conference losses were to Harvard and Yale.

Start with the original core members of the former P5 and then add from the rest while respecting geo, culture and brand with the goal of peer media value and football competitiveness.

How far back do we need to go for "original," though? I mean, should we stick Idaho and Montana in the "original" PAC-8? They were in it from the early 20s to the late 50s, after all - and they help fix the geographic issue in the northwest. But they'd get slaughtered by Oregon and Washington today.

@@actionfootballsundays The core from around the time the P5 evolved. They organically grouped at the start for reasons. One would then add in a lot of current members for this exercise, but the "core" would be the foundation in my view. So the core ACC would likely be the 8 then members before FSU was added. (USCAR was a founder but doesn't really fit the academic culture/brand; however, would still likely be acceptable enough for this exercise.)
