I recently visited a different island named Eventide (equally as gorgeous) and was totally blindsided this was a completely different island! I absolutely loved the 70s theme!
Haha my first island was named Eventide! I doubt you toured mine though. I think it was a common island name because of BOTW, it was the only island name I could think of, plus I did a beach boho theme so it fit

This island honestly gave me life!!! The colors, the vibe, all of it...just perfection. I was geeking out. It felt perfect. It felt nostalgic in some weird way. Honestly one of my favorite island tours I have ever seen! I love your tours, btw. "Definitely not a dispensary," you crack me up! I was born in the early 90s, so not a 70s kid, but the vibe was done so well!!!

people use glow-in-the-dark stickers!! you can customize them with patterns that have transparency so people have gotten super creative

Wow! This video was great and I’ve already visited the dream address right after watching too! Can anyone help me find the custom pattern that looks like a yellow/orange sunflower? I checked through the custom designs in the description. There even happens to be one called “flower circle”. The design doesn’t seem to be available from that designer or any of the other ones for that matter. Please assist! 🙂

In 1972 I had finally got a decent job and could at least look at houses. A new 2 bedroom house cost $17,000. The real estate agent asked me if I was on birth control. Once the shockwave subsided she explained a "woman" would never be able to get a home loan if there was a chance she'd get pg. Previous to the new job, my soon to be X and I produced Folk Music festivals.

@swamp7child according to my switch I've spent 1900 hours playing the game 🥴
No prior planning whatsoever! I'm more of a gardener than an architect... I just build what I feel like building and it has naturally grown and evolved into this over time! I've never flattened my island, most of the terraforming is just editing the existing cliffs and river to suit whatever area I'm working on at the time.
During 1.0 it was a horror island. Bill Wibbly had a haunted house. Then I saw the movie Midsommar and the island had sort of a creepy pastoral cult phase. Over time I decided that felt too limiting so it became more of a chill hippie commune with a couple creepy elements leftover! After that my main goal was just making things look as realistic as possible.
It's definitely not the most efficient way to build an island though, which is why it's taken me 3.5 years to make something I'm truly happy with 😅
My only real design tip is to pack your non-walking areas super full of clutter, but leave your paths pretty open! For me, the clutter was mostly plants and natural-looking items but it just depends on your theme. And take full advantage of treasure islands so you can use your valuable time decorating instead ! ☺️

@ariellynngalan1225 it's called a maypole, one of the seasonal items on the nookphone during early summer I think!
I hope you kept Bud and Shep. They are 60's/70's for sure. Bud can pass for any generation.

So in Happy Home Paradise you unlock a feature that let's you polish your furniture in different ways, and one of them creates little floating hearts! So you can put them on any furniture piece
It's a very creative island. Like all the islands i visit, i really dont care for villiagers that are stuck at their own homes. I love bumping into them in random areas.
