Mindvalley dude I'm recovering from schizophrenia and I feel like my memory is missing. It just doesn't work anymore. I have a bad attention span I can barely remember what happened 30 minutes ago and I find it really difficult to imagine vivid pictures. My minds eye, memory and attention are broken can you please make a step by step guide on how to recover your mind from damage caused by mental or other illness?
Thanks for taking the time out to read this.
I really need help with rebuilding the minds eye, memory and attention span and focus.

You can't teach what you dont understand. So, the fact that you go in your head and try to find a way to explain something to someone in simple terms, it forces your brain to understand something. Our brain will always do whats necessary, its just sometimes we dont want to put effort.

    • @wardesu2120

He's right, and I can relate because I'm an English teacher. In my experiences, it's mostly been relearning grammar. Even more so, learning fun and active ways to teach and learn grammar which many people hate to learn.

  • @GoodNewsForStrangers

    1. Forget everything you know about the concept and start learning as if you don't know anything.
    2. Get yourself in a excited to learn mindset by looking at your heroes and remembering why you're learning this in the first place.
    3. Actively engage with the material by asking questions or taking great notes, keep in mind as if you're going to teach it later because that forces you to learn in properly
    4. Then actually teach the material. Even if it's out loud to your self.

The part where he says, "Your learning is limitless" is spot on! When it comes to intelligence, some ppl are just born ahead of everyone else, but even the dumbest box of rocks can learn. And if that smarter guy stays stagnant for too long, the dummy will surpass and become the smart one. I know because I've been the smart guy and the idiot.

That learning to teach is so true. I had to learn computer programming and coding, hours at a time throughout a couple of weeks just to teach it the next day and I learned it so much faster then if I was just sitting there to learn It just to have as a skill which probably would have taken months and months in comparison

I would NOT want a teacher who was just one day ahead of me in the material. The competent teacher is one who has not only knowledge of the material BUT a seasoned grasp of how that material fits into the educational goals of those being taught. I think this procedure to make an instant teacher of you also made your students the big loser in the process. THIS WAS A BAD IDEA BIGTIME.

I agree how he explains forget. "Forget about the things around you and forget about your limitations."
But I like the word compare, compare what you know to what you are learning and then compare and contrast the different points. Because it's hard to forget stuff if you already know it and it's going to require more energy to start with a beginners mind.
