Good job....Always good to review basics. When packing up my SeeStar, I slip my dew shield over the top tripod leg with the leveler and other flat pieces and USB cable below. I keep two power packs (one for scope, the other for phone/tablet) plus a red/white headband light in a separate rigid case. Both cases then go in a medium-sized pack with a few snacks and water. I like your small jump-start battery idea, now that companies have added USB ports. Meanwhile, I guess I'll just keep thinking of you as "Beth".... Keep up the good work! Michael
Hi from England, Very nice collection of telescopes, just got my seastar 50, been watching your video's Thank you for your great video's and the time you take to share your knowledge.

highly recommend Bernie, lots to see and do, you get a sun filter for day use if night cloudy, its staggering the image quality, I use a 11" tablet for software.
@@TheAstroRoom can I ask, with my seastar i got a extra its a lense extension with a cap with holes slits and a plastic cross, any ideas what it for, thanks.
I have watched dozens of videos on how to use a bahtinov mask and I could never understand what they were trying to do until I watched your video. Thank you so much!
Great channel! Your excitement for the hobby is clear! I bought my SeeStar to be the back up to my regular rig, because I’m new to the hobby and I’m always having trouble. With the SeeStar it’s a no brainer, I love it!
Love this video! Just went and bought the Dew shield and Bahtinov/lens cap combo. I already have the leveler- it’s a must for anyone with a Seestar S50. These are going to make a big difference as you noted. Thank you!
Another one of my favorite accessories is a 20"/150mm dew heater band by Neewer that I use around the base of the Seestar on really cold nights that are approaching the lower limits of use. It sure keeps the lithium battery from draining so fast. I have that plugged into my power tank along with the Seestar power for many hours of use.
Excellent video. Thank you. I have had my Seestar for just a short time. I actually have all those accessories except the external battery. I appreciate your explaining how to use the bahtinov mask. I bought the Seestar as my Celaestron Evolution 8 has become too heavy and unmanageable for me due to health and age. The S50 is great as it allows me to continue in a hobby that I love.
Decided to challenge the internal filter. Just received a 2" svbony, 7nm, SV220 dual band filter and holder. Hopefully, I will see some improvement when nebula season begins. This is so much fun.
Hi .. that’s helpful video indeed . Got a question regarding Seestar telescope.. does it show a live video image on the iphone app or just a still picture only for deep space objects ? Thanks again
I had that same question before I got my Seestar. For deep space it’s a still image. Regardless, it’s so satisfying to see the image gradually appear as the scope stacks them and it gets better and better the more time you leave it on the object. It stacks images very quickly and doesn’t take long to set up and get amazing views of deep space!
Thanks a lot for the reply .. you are the first reviewer of this telescope who answered me . I am really happy to hear from you . Subscribed & support always ✅👍🏻
Quick question... you mention that your leveler fits into the box with your Seestar with tripod. I ordered this exact leveler based on your suggestion. Mine arrived today and I'm not figuring out how to make that fit. Would you mind sharing an image, or a brief video showing how you manage to fit this into the case with everything else? LOVING the videos!
The Seestar has a built in Wi-Fi so I actually normally use it’s built in WiFi and connect to my iPad 😃, no need for cellular cuz I don’t have that activated on my iPad.
I love this video! I have a SeeStar. I live in a city with a lot of light pollution. I'm getting the light pollution filter. What a great idea. There are street lights all around me. That will really cut down on the ambient light coming in from the sides. I also called up those other filters to make star points. That looks fun. I was using my SeeStar one night and I had forgotten to charge it and was thinking I really need to get an external battery pack. And then I remember that I HAVE a Noco Boost! I use it as a backup for when my car needs a jump start. So I've been using one all along. They're great because you can jump your car or use it as a battery backup if there's a power failure in your area or you need a light.
Hi. Thanks for the videos. Excellent. Would an Ipad 7 work with the Seestar app? I've never had an Ipad. The leveler is so much easier than the tripod legs. Thank you so much.
Great video. I just got my dew shield/light pollution blocker tube. Maybe you should do a video showing the difference between images with and without the tube.
I just bought some telescope flocking material to line my dew shield. As I looked into the dew shield, it seemed fairly reflective/shiny. I hope the flocking material adds some contrast to my images. I'm in a Bortle 4-5 rural area, but if I'm imaging nebula when the moon is out, I think this will help. I do try to image at least 60 degrees away from the moon. I did not what to cheap material that might shed particles so I sought out 2 companies that specifically make the flocking material for telescopes.
The dew shield accessory would be nice. I normally image from the backyard but I was in the front yard and my neighbors garage lights were interfering with the Seestar ( I could tell because the lower corner had a small glow to it) there is also a street light nearby so maybe this shield would block those lights? I see a lot of these accessories seem to be 3D printed and the quality of fit is not the greatest. Thanks for the video, I’m having a good time with my new Seestar when the skies cooperate.
Great videos thanks. I'm going to drive to Texas and try to live stream the eclipse for my family and friends with Seestar and insta 360, any helpful info on streaming and software and equipment to use will be greatly appreciated.
I just realized I could mount my Seestar with the leveler adapter on the stand for my Celestron 8SE! I was using a DSLR tripod that did not feel secure and stable with the Seestar on it. In fact, I think you could mount three Seestars on the stand for the 8SE. I see you have and 8SE. Give it a shot.
Hi great video explanations A+++, do you bring your tablet or phone to run the seestar, wondering about that iPad holder, looks great for going out side , what type is it
Thanks Craig! Well I love using my Seestar with my tablet, makes it all look bigger : ) This is the link I put in the description of the tablet holder I use in this video: amzn.to/4az6VIE I use it while I'm outside too, its great while I'm leveling and looking for targets
Years ago I had a Sony digital 8 video camera that could mount a 2x lens on the outside of the camera thereby multiplying the magnification of the camera. Is it possible to do this to the Seestar?
Some useful info here. I actually have a power brick like that for jumpstarting the car! I hadn't thought of using it with the S50. My observing spot is on a church parking lot, so I bought a 10-foot USB cable. If all else fails, I can run that from the car to the scope...
Really excellent video. You mentioned everything related to Sea Star, but you provided excellent links, but you did not mention a T-shirt from where? Where is the link 😏😎 I really really want the same T-shirt as this 😏 ,,, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ good luck 👍
It's pretty easy, turn the top red knurled knobs one at a time to center the bubbles, or move the circles in the levelling process towards each other. Turn the bottom red knobs to lock the level. Note I never really need to lock the leveller, it stays in place.
I bought one more that I'm sure not many will consider. I replaced the pedestal with the ZWO TC40. I'm an old guy and bending over during setup became an issue. I needed the height. For me, it works.
@@johndaley9188 I have a Berlebach Report 212 tripod that is higher and I use it with the Seestar. I am also an OFA (Old Fart Astronomer) in my late 60s who also doesn't like to bend down.
All the levelers are not the same. Most have 3 adjusters which also included a locking wheel (usually smaller). Top or bottom, I've seen them made both ways. Mike is right, locking wheels are not needed. If you have been turning the wheels willy nilly(technical term) with no results, stop. Physically look at the 2 plates and make them parallel again using the adjuster wheels. Mine has a round bubble on top and I do a rough leveling using just that(before I mount the Seestar). Mount S50, turn 1 adjuster wheel at a time to see what it does in the software, then 2 then 3. Take your time. You know the goal.
The NOCO is a great multi-use device, especially including the car jump start function. But if you want something that that is focused on just providing power, then Anker has a number of good external battery packs, especially the A1340 model with 27650 mAh/99.54Wh of power, which is just under the FAA limit that allows you to take it onboard aircraft in the main cabin.
