    I've being dying for American Samoa to get independence to be part of us Western Samoans or Samoans, but I really hope that Olohega will be given back to Tokelau🇼🇸🇦🇸❤🇹🇰

    Wow no wonder the Polynesian don't like the laws of the European. They came to those shores and stole the Island they need to return was not there's give it back. Like Aotearoa needs to have there name returned. I'm disappointed in our MP she has not address this issue if she is part Maori she can name change it. I don't understand her policy's.

    Give Olohega back to Tokelau..

    • @megalodon7916
      @megalodon7916 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why? There is no valid reason for such a change in possession. Historically speaking, the settlers from Tokelau just seized the island after wiping out the native population anyway. How is that any different from other colonial efforts? The American claim to Swains Island is valid, and Tokelau isn't even an idependent nation, being a territory of New Zealand.

      @@sharkeisha2225 I am a white America and I support returning Swains Island to Tokelau. I am very politically active, and if I ever have any influence I will push to make this a reality (and to turn over Jarvis Island, Palmyra Atoll, and Kingsman Reef to Kiribati).

      @@megalodon7916 "This is not America this is Polynesia, our island was stolen. That's your problem you're ignorant... woefully ignorant. You need to learn about our history and about where you are. Olohega was a colony in the Polynesia that was taken. Just as all of eastern Europe was forcibly taken by the Soviet union. Which America thinks is a very very bad place. BAD BAD SOVIET UNION. Well the BAD BAD AMERICA took Puerto Rico, Alaska stole Indian land, took Hawaii Guam Micronesia and Malau. You better learn your history, because you are the recipient of an imperialistic tradition." Thank You Michael S. for your efforts and God bless.

    Samoan and tokelauan are every close language

    • @iosefotulafono6919
      @iosefotulafono6919 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      moesha pempengco Yeah really close because our language was mainly influenced by the Tuvaluan and Samoan languages the Good news was first preached to us Tokelauans in Samoan we had Samoan missionaries stationed in our islands including the LMS(London Missionary Society) and also the Roman Catholic sent some of our people to Samoa for training to become ministers of the church Samoan was our islands "Church language" its only been recent that we have had our own bible translated and we also sing many Samoan Church songs to this day

    • @juniortalava5105
      @juniortalava5105 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@markwarne5049 Because each Island in Tuvalu have there own dialects, we can understand most Polynesian languages, but Tokelau would be the closest to us Tuvalu, where we could converse in our own languages but still understand each other. A few different words for objects but mostly the same as Tuvaluan.

These other nations don’t value anything we love.hopefully one day we can send them off for good and leave us alone. These places are our homes not a place for u to go away to for paradise.

    Yes, this is true, but their youngest brother (my father) Patrick spent most of his time on the island of Olohega, as did their father (my grandfather) who, according to his birth certificate, states that he was born in Swains Islands.

    Have the Jennings family after all these years at least make an attempt to mend relations with the original people of Olohega? Have they accepted that what their predecessors have done was wrong and unjust? The healing will never begin until they accept and take responsibility for their past, that has struck greif to the hearts of many families.

      They always hide away from the media and public, the jenning family,,we Tokelau had tried in every way to contact that family..no luck only a handful of stories and rumors that some of the family wanted to give back our Land..that full crab aswell..the proper thing to do I guess to take the family to justice in a court
