I love that she said 'They are officially astronauts' after the lady who is an astronaut was so peeved about them getting that title.
the fact theyre using air breaks where there is basically no air pressure requires insane skill and accuracy. props to those pilots.
They are space tourists. Calling them astronauts discredits the true pioneers who invested considerable time, effort and money on their education, training and research to make what happened today possible. Congratulations on a successful flight.
Not even that, accelerate to 17,500 MPH and get into orbit before before you tell me you're going into space. They may be going only a little faster and higher than the Concord did. If you want to get weightless, go on the vomit comet.
Thumbs up for the Landing Crew. They did a Wonderful job on this flight. They have the perfect person being he has done this multiple times in his life! I love this video!!
I met Branson when he was a spotty, toothy kid with an upstairs record shop in Oxford Street. I could never, ever imagined I would live to see that guy do this !
doesnt matter who you are, if you see our planet from space.. Nothing will ever be more beautiful. you'll never gaze upon anything close to earths beauty from space. the peak of beauty in your lifetime is reached from that point forward.
It's great that Richard Branson can see all this happen as the creator.

I hope not! Wasting fossil fuel for 10 minutes of fun? The CO2 emission per capita is as high as a flight from London to New York.
At first I was wondering what all the hype was about. But, when I saw them experiencing free falling and peering through the windows I definitely got chills. Must be a life altering moment for anyone.

Its called Zero G falling.. I used to do it for my passengers in a Cessna 172. Works in all planes, but only for a few seconds.

We go from serious journalists covering the Apollo program to now our modern 9th grade level coverage of this very serious and awe-inspiring flight. It is almost better to turn the sound off entirely rather than to hear all of the silly babble. Congratulations to those pilots for an amazing flight.
Absolutely, a sign of the times, not to mention the strategically placed crew.
Glad I'm not alone. I was like SHUT UP ALREADY! I never want to see Gadi Schwarz ever again.

I've been following richard for the last 15 years of my life and it's amazing to see this finally come together.
I remember him trying to fly around the world in a balloon, when I was a kid. 🤔
Was lucky enough to to see Richard Brandon’s flight across the earth pass through Kansas when i was in High School seems like 10 years ago got to respect the limits that man is pushing
Wow finally. I remember reading about this being their goal back in the 2000s
Wow, watching that young lady stare back at the earth had me tearing up, just what a special experience for her, you could see in her eyes how powerful that would of been, she had a perspective nobody has on the planet her age and hope it inspires her to even greater things in her life
They better thank the test pilot who orginally helped with the design of the Galactic through his very many and dangerous test flights. Because during one of the test flights he was involved in a crash landing that could have cost him his life just to help the design make it to where it is today.
Richard has always
been my idol as I learned a lot from him on how to be a leader and how to take care of the business
Richard Branson.... you are the man... love your cruise line, airline and would love to experience this OMG!!!!!
Perhaps a good name for the passengers traveling with the professionals to space could be “Astrotourists”.

This is the marvel of science and engineering combined. What a accomplishment
Maybe just refer them as Space Passengers? If I fly on a plane and walk around for a moment, I don't call myself a Pilot. 😊
Congratulations to everyone involved and especially the old gentleman who definitely deserved his flight to space after working so hard and waiting for so long! Nothing more beautifu than meritocracy. Congratulations sir ❤
I echo this sentiment, although i don't begrudge the two ladies of their opportunity. You win a contest then that's fair enough too. But yes, it is nice to see somebody really enjoy themselves after they've spent their hard earned money on a dream and have waited so long to realise that dream.
Talking about meritocracy when looking at a billionaire's toy project is a genuinely laughable sentiment

A big achievement.
It might seems little but it is a good start for the coming generation.
No. It's not a start of nothing big. Technology is still too poor to make this anywhere near economical for larger consumption.

Very cool. Way cooler than trying to see the wreckage of the titanic.
Crazy how we know more about space than our deep oceans, even travelling to space can be easier than deep oceans.
Ironically, a lot of what works in space travel also works in oceanic travel, as the pressure of outer space can also be likened to an ocean itself. Why else do you think that NASA and other space flight organizations train in water, alongside zero gravity environments?

Half a million , wow . Im gonna wait till Spirit and Fly Frontier start their flights to space...
This is so cool. Finally after all the years of talk space tourism is officially a go. Really awesome!
Technically, it is currently sub-orbital travel, not actual outer space, but, yes, it is still definitely still a step forward in commercial flight. Eventually, I foresee space travel and commercial/terrestrial flight merging together and that there will be flight capable craft that can fly in any kind of atmosphere, as well as in outer space, with even being able to have faster than light capabilities, you know, if humankind does not commit genocide first, anyway.
What a day and age we live in. Really awesome.
@@jimbrown4456 no, but it never was. All the generations before us lived in varying kinds of ignorance and darkness. Everything in human affairs is flawed, and yet...

Thank god their spaceship didn't implode!
I think people who pay to acquire a seat in a vehicle travelling into space shouldn't be called Astranauts, that's likening them to professional pilots of spacecraft. Rather I think they could be called Astro-passengers.
"People who get doctorates shouldn't be called doctors, that's likening them to people who work in medicine."
It's always been the case that the word astronaut is applied to a human who goes to space. The initial astro and cosmo nauts were everything from dogs to air force vets who had _nothing_ to do with the construction of the spacecraft.
Also this is amazing, I hope I can be successful or win my way to space. I literally teared up, I can't imagine what is like to look back and see earth. This is amazing.
